Job title: Marketing & Business Development (M&BD) Intern
Department: Marketing & Business Development
Location: Bristol or London
Main purpose of the role: This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in pursuing a career in professional services M&BD to gain on the job experience across all aspects of a fast-paced M&BD function within an international law firm.
Reports to: Senior M&BD Operations Manager

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pitching - producing first drafts of client-facing pitch documents and supporting the maintenance of the firm’s pitch infrastructure and credentials database.
  • Client management - producing first drafts of regular internal and client facing reports, updating relationship maps and updating content on client portals.
  • Research and reporting - gathering data and compiling internal and client facing reports.
  • Directory submissions - assisting with directory submissions, including chasing for content and ensuring documents are completed and submitted on time.
  • Events - assisting with all aspects of event planning and management for both in-person events and webinars, including managing marketing lists, producing event invitations and internal communication, diary co-ordination, organising event logistics and attending events on the day.
  • CRM - assisting with the maintenance and administration of the firm’s client database (InterAction) and our relationship intelligence tool (Introhive).
  • Other activity- as required.

You will be required to:

  • Work as a team - working with the team to reach milestones and achieve objectives both in terms of significant projects and day to day tasks.
  • Achieve deadlines - being proactive in picking up tasks and completing them in accordance with deadlines.
  • Familiarise yourself with M&BD processes - continuously developing and evolving knowledge of relevant M&BD processes to provide efficient and high-quality support to the wider M&BD team and the firm.
  • Undertake training and development - attending regular training and development and learning and implementing best practice and ensuring high quality levels. Gaining an understanding of the business through daily tasks and projects.
  • Report - frequent reporting of service delivery and progress regarding projects.

Person specification:

  • Strong Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Well organised with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow processes.
  • Well-developed understanding of the tasks that fit under the M&BD department.
  • Able to build effective and collaborative relationships and networks across the firm.

  • Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
  • No previous legal sector experience required, just a willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
