THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an interim Marketing, Communications, and Community Engagement Lead to join our team in our Calgary Office for 18 months while our current lead is on maternity leave.
This role is central to Pedesting’s growth and impact. You will lead marketing and communications across all channels, build strong partnerships, coordinate client onboarding, and guide how Pedesting connects with users and communities. You will oversee both B2B and B2C engagement, helping us grow our user base while supporting our business clients and partners.
If you are a strong communicator, a creative marketer, and a relationship builder who knows how to tell the right story, at the right place, to the right audience, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing startup.

Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.

  • Knowledge and practice of essential digital marketing tools including SEO, CRM systems, social media management, and analytics. Comfort using data and insights to guide decisions and measure results.

Responsibilities
  • Minimum 3 years of B2B or B2C experience in marketing and communications.
  • Background in marketing and business required; experience in real estate, navigation, or urban spaces is an asset.
  • Familiarity with accessibility and inclusion, or a willingness to learn and engage meaningfully in this space is an asset

  • Knowledge and practice of essential digital marketing tools including SEO, CRM systems, social media management, and analytics. Comfort using data and insights to guide decisions and measure results.
  • Experience with the following platforms or equivalent:

Social : Hootsuite
Design/Layout : Canva, Adobe Express, etc.
AI writing tools: ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, etc
Photography/Video-based : Creative Cloud, CapCut, Instagram Edits, etc.

Familiarity with tools like Teams, Office 365, email platforms (HubSpot, etc.), WordPress

  • A self-starter with initiative, creativity, and a vision to look ahead and see beyond the curtain.
