QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years in the same.
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite software, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Experience with social media management tools

Responsibilities
  • The Marketing Communications Coordinator is responsible for providing integrated marketing communication solutions for technical services to meet university needs. This role is responsible for producing marketing and multimedia content to maximize awareness, usage, and appreciation of Information Technology Services (ITS) services and initiatives. This position helps coordinate content across integrated marketing communications channels and assists in public relations and promotional opportunities to develop and maintain a positive image for ITS and the university. This employee works closely with students, faculty, and staff and a university-wide network of marketing communications professionals.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns for ITS projects, services, initiatives, and accomplishments. Attends meetings with clients and relays technical information to audiences clearly and concisely. Prepares messaging correspondence for external and internal audiences and maintains a database of internal messaging templates and communication resources. Ensures all messaging is distributed appropriately in a timely manner. Aggregates key metrics to ensure marketing efforts have generated awareness, interest, and action while adjusting future strategies and content based on findings. Oversees marketing communications student intern(s) and provides training on communication procedures and tools.
  • Writes and edits content for various communication channels, including website, email, social media, presentations, brochures, and other marketing materials to support strategic goals. Balances creative and technical writing to create copy for general population awareness and promotional materials and compose text for technical audiences. Edits and proofs material prepared by other staff.
  • Responsible for coordinating ITS social media activities, including creating, scheduling, and monitoring posts, engaging with followers, and responding to all social media interactions. Establishes prominent social media presence on existing and emerging platforms through audience growth and engagement. Coordinates social media promotions related to current ITS initiatives.
  • Responsible for promoting the ITS brand through story opportunities and campus collaborations. Seeks out interesting stories, conducts interviews, and prepares engaging articles on a variety of IT-related topics.Cultivates and maintains relationships with campus departments and pitches content to internal and external news outlets. Maintains public-facing ITS calendar of events.
  • Represents ITS at campus outreach efforts, which involves travel to campus event locations to promote initiatives with tables, activities, and marketing collateral. Connects with campus audiences to raise awareness of ITS services and initiatives.
  • Assists with development and distribution of communications about planned and unplanned ITS service interruptions, including maintenance. Gathers necessary information from service offering managers and distributes notices and updates in a timely manner. Maintains ITS service status system and posts incident updates to websites, social media, and other relevant channels.
  • Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards. Other duties as assigned.
