QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, or business, and four years related experience; or six years progressively responsible marketing experience or equivalent combination of training/education and experience. Two years marketing-related management experience.
Preferred: Marketing experience in the financial industry. Publication production and copywriting experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Desktop publishing, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software experience required; understanding of printing, graphic design, desktop publishing, web development and broadcast production methods required; Ability to handle frequent deadlines and time constraints required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, Board, the public and the media.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY

Manages and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the employees by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively recommends and oversees marketing strategies and tactics to help achieve specific division and department goals, and/or business development calling program goals by consulting with key officers of the bank, including managers and division heads.
  • Oversees and directs the implementation of marketing strategies for new services and revisions of current marketing strategies for existing services and customer service delivery methods.
  • Oversees and directs all advertising activities of the bank, and reviews the effectiveness of advertising materials and programs; manages the bank’s branding/identity program; oversees and directs production of all promotional and merchandising materials; approves production and media expense within authority, maximizes effectiveness of sales efforts and ensures message consistency and information accuracy.
  • Oversees and monitors publicity and press relations; generates and manages opportunities and inquiries.
  • Collaborates on the development and execution of public relations programs by positioning a broad range of public relations tactics including public, customer, employee, director and shareholder information and communication services.
  • Oversees the administration and maintenance of the bank’s public website; develops messaging and promotions, ensures functionality and accuracy of content, schedules and/or posts service maintenance and outage notices, and administers website internal audit/quality procedures; oversees website and/or online enhancements to deliver highest quality customer service and/or generates efficiencies.
  • Develops and oversees content published for internal global distribution, including The Teller employee newsletter and Today’s Teller intranet posts, and other forms of employee communications.
  • Oversees and directs the bank-adopted social media program and procedures, directing and coordinating dynamic social media activities, ensuring adherence to Social Media Policy and Program across all divisions.
  • Recommends and participates in market research projects, including but not limited to quality of service, customer attitudes, economic conditions, development of new and/or revised services and identification of target markets, key customers, prospects and Centers of Influence (COIs), as well as applicable service enhancements and/or trends as they affect the delivery of current and/or proposed services.
  • Serves as SME and/or project manager and/or team member as appropriate in the development, packaging and promotion of new services, and/or enhancements to existing services, and/or other initiatives undertaken by various bank divisions and/or departments.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations impacting bank marketing programs and materials; stays abreast of competitive opportunities and successful innovations in marketing, and in financial marketing arena in particular.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring and terminating of employees. Provides oversight, advice and guidance to direct reports and their delegates and acts as a champion in employee development and succession planning to develop, coach, and assist in the development of department objectives.
