Responsibilities

We are looking for an energetic, creative, and strategically-minded Marketing & Communications Manager to join our dynamic and close-knit management team. This is a newly elevated role that offers an opportunity to shape and lead PMF’s communications across digital and physical platforms.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will take ownership of our tone of voice, branding, and storytelling—developing and delivering a marketing strategy that amplifies our impact and increases engagement with local families, audiences, and supporters.
You will lead on day-to-day content creation and campaign delivery, as well as help shape our long-term communications approach in line with our values and mission.
We understand that the ‘perfect candidate’ may not exist, and we don’t expect you to tick every box. If you’re enthusiastic about our mission and show strong potential in some areas, we’d be excited to support your development and help you grow into the role.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications:

  • Develop and implement a simple, effective marketing and communications plan in collaboration with the Board and Chief Executive.
  • Take ownership of PMF’s tone of voice and messaging across all platforms—ensuring consistency, warmth, and clarity in all external communications.
  • Craft compelling stories about the charity’s impact, using testimonials, video, photography, and real voices from our community.
  • Work closely with programme staff to identify and shape communications opportunities throughout the year.

Content & Campaigns:

  • Plan, create, and deliver marketing campaigns to promote our termly concerts, choirs, and community events.
  • Develop and manage a content calendar that integrates social media, email, and print communications.

Digital Presence:

  • Manage and maintain an active online presence across social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Create and schedule engaging posts to enhance PMF’s profile and promote our musical programmes in the local area.

Physical Marketing:

  • Coordinate with a team of volunteers to distribute flyers, posters, banners, and other promotional materials for termly concerts and special events. Working with the Chief Executive and Programmes Manager, ensure materials are effectively placed to maximise visibility and engagement.

Website Maintenance:

  • Assist in updating and maintaining the PMF website, ensuring it accurately reflects current activities and events.

Ticketing Management:

  • Oversee the online ticketing systems for our three yearly PMF events, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues that may arise.

  • Utilise analytics tools to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns. Provide insights and recommendations for optimising future efforts.
