Description The Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Commuter Connections marketing efforts. Emphasis is placed on digital communications, including social media and website management. The role coordinates the annual Bike to Work Day regional event, acting as Staff Lead for the Bike to Work Day Steering Committee. The position requires growing independence and initiative, with regular supervision and guidance. Duties / Responsibilities: Coordinate the annual Bike to Work Day event as Staff Lead for the event’s steering committee, including facilitation of committee meetings, consensus-building, event logistics, and sponsorship management. Support the Senior TDM Marketing Manager in guiding the Regional TDM Marketing contractor, reviewing media plans, and assessing marketing materials. Develop, update, and procure marketing collateral such as brochures and flyers. Maintain the Commuter Connections websites, ensuring content accuracy and optimal functionality in collaboration with web developers. Manage social media channels by creating relevant content and responding to public inquiries. Participate in outreach and promotional events to elevate program awareness. Collect and analyze marketing campaign data; prepare reports including campaign/event summaries; oversee data exports from analytics platforms. Support coordination and presentations for Regional TDM Marketing Group and Bike to Work Day Steering Committee meetings. Requirements Minimum Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, in marketing, communications, journalism, city and regional planning, public administration, public policy, environmental studies, business, or a closely related field. Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, outreach, public involvement, or a related field. Desired Competencies: Stakeholder Management: Coordinates regional events and serves as Staff Lead for the Bike to Work Day Steering Committee. Communications & Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates expertise in marketing, communications, public relations, and advertising; outstanding writing and editing skills for a variety of audiences; proficient in graphic design concepts and advertising layouts; establishes strong relationships with staff, officials, business community, and public. Marketing Campaign Development: Supports creation, implementation, and evaluation of marketing campaigns. Organizational Skills: Independently manages assigned tasks with limited supervision; prioritizes deliverables and reports status through project management tools. Technical & Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams); experienced with web conferencing (Webex, Zoom); familiarity Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) is desirable. Proficient with WordPress is desirable.
