The Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the marketing team by managing essential administrative and operational tasks, and contributing to the seamless execution of marketing campaigns. This entry-level position is ideal for an organized, proactive individual with a passion for marketing and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. The role involves maintaining schedules, facilitating communication between departments, managing government paperwork, and supporting digital and traditional marketing initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting). Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite) is an asset.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Basic understanding of or willingness to learn Health Canada’s Cannabis Regulations, particularly regarding advertising and product listing requirements.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating professional emails and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in completing paperwork, managing calendars, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively across departments while also taking initiative on independent tasks.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a highly regulated and evolving industry with shifting priorities.
  • Experience: Previous internship or work experience in marketing, administrative support, or the cannabis industry is an asset but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Calendar Management: Maintain and update marketing and production calendars to ensure alignment of campaigns, product launches, and deliverables across teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Complete and submit government paperwork related to product listings, label changes, and other regulatory requirements in accordance with Health Canada’s Cannabis Regulations.
  • Asset Coordination: Oversee the flow of marketing assets from creative development through to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Social Media Management: Schedule and post social media content across platforms, ensuring compliance with Canadian cannabis advertising regulations (e.g., no promotional content targeting minors).
  • Co-ordinate/book meetings, presentations etc.
  • Email Marketing: Distribute email campaigns to customers and stakeholders, including newsletters and promotional updates, using email marketing platforms.
  • Reporting: Compile resale and marketing performance reports using Microsoft Excel, providing insights to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a liaison between marketing, creative, production, and sales teams to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with additional marketing tasks, such as organizing promotional materials, coordinating events, or managing vendor relationships.
  • Market Research: Conduct basic market research to support campaign planning and stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all marketing materials adhere to brand standards and regulatory guidelines specific to the Canadian cannabis industry.
