JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Development, overseeing the delivery of fundraising and communications support to KinVillage. Your duties will be diverse and multi-faceted, therefore excellent professional skills are vital for this role. You will align with the vision, mission and values that holds at its foundations. You will utilize your marketing/fundraising experience, graphic design skills, enjoy contributing to and developing our social media presence.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a fundraising and marketing/communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum Diploma in communications, marketing, English, public relations, journalism, social sciences or humanities is an asset.
  • Possess an understanding of fundraising and communications/marketing techniques and trends.
  • Ability to use InDesign and Canva is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp and Keela database is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication/interpersonal skills.
  • High level of creativity and the ability to think analytically.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop, evaluate and monitor systems and procedures.
  • Ability to research, analyze and effectively resolve problems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven knowledge of fundraising and communications/marketing ethics and best practices.
  • Strong public speaking abilities are an asset.

Responsibilities
  1. Providing support to the Director of Development and overseeing the delivery of marketing and communications support for fundraising.
  2. Assisting in various fundraising activities, including annual giving, donor engagement, events, donor CRM support (Keela), corporate donations (sponsorships and gift in kind), and campaigns to help achieve fundraising goals.
  3. Creating and developing a variety of content to support fundraising, communications and marketing efforts, including annual reports, newsletters, websites/blogs, social media, brochures and press releases to build fundraising’s social media/online presence and brand profile.
  4. Monitoring analytics and create reports detailing fundraising and communications results.
  5. Managing all KinVillage’s social media channels and developing all social media posts to ensure a strong online presence/website for fundraising.
  6. Developing creative and graphic designs to create content for various collateral, materials and resources, including newsletters, websites/blogs, social media, brochures and press releases to build KinVillage’s social media/online presence and brand profile.
  7. Ensuring all promotional and marketing materials meet KinVillage’s brand guidelines and strategy.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
