MARKETING COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY:

The Red River Exhibition Association is searching for a dedicated and passionate marketing coordinator to join our team. The individual will play a vital role in contributing to our Association’s objective to deliver memorable, year-round events, making a significant impact on Manitoba’s tourism industry, and helping to promote local businesses.
Our ideal candidate brings energy, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic, as well as well as great writing, content creation, advertising, video and graphic design skills.
Working full-time from our office on Portage Avenue west of the Perimeter Highway, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager, administration and events staff to execute a wide range of marketing strategies and plans for events, including The EX, Witchy Wonderland, Canad Inns Winter Wonderland, Manitoba Harness Racing, and dozens of other third-party events held throughout the year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1-4 years’ experience in a similar marketing or communications role.
  • Degree or diploma from a recognized institution in marketing, creative communications, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), WordPress, Canva, Capcut, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Survey Monkey and Mailchimp is an asset. Video production and photography skills are an asset.
  • Ability to create engaging and entertaining content for website, social media, and email campaigns.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks within assigned deadlines.
  • Solid and demonstrable experience managing business social media accounts with extreme attentiveness to accuracy, detail, and facilitating the best guest experience possible.
  • Experience in event marketing and understanding of marketing campaign timing is an asset.
  • Experience coordinating corporate sponsorships is an asset.
  • Superior English communication skills.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
As the chosen candidate, you will work a regular Monday – Friday schedule, though you must also be available to work major events, some of which occur on weekends. During The EX in June, all staff are required to have full availability on-site as it is our largest event of the year. We encourage a flexible schedule for the remainder of the year to allow employees to use any banked overtime as well as any allotted vacation time. You’ll also enjoy a generous benefits package, hard-working co-workers, and a fun workplace environment.
Responsibilities

As marketing coordinator in a fast-paced workplace, you will play a significant role in elevating our growing marketing team toward continued growth, helping advance the goals of the Association and, ultimately the tourism, entertainment and agriculture industries in Manitoba. Your primary responsibilities as marketing coordinator will include:

  • Writing captivating and error-free copy for websites, social media posts, brochures, advertisements, signage, and other assignments in alignment with our brand voice.
  • Designing marketing materials such as event signage, social media posts, annual reports, brochures, and event booking and vendor applications.
  • Keeping the company website and electronic signage up to date with accurate event and park information.
  • Providing promotional support for John Blumberg Sports Park, Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame, Manitoba Harness Racing, Red River Exhibition Foundation, third party events, and extended park partners.
  • Promoting and advertise rental of various spaces, items, and equipment for rental opportunities, and advertise event volunteer opportunities.
  • Creating regular reports for social media, website and paid advertising campaigns, and suggesting strategies for improvements.
  • Coordinating with and building relationships with radio, TV, and digital media partners.
  • Assisting with photography, videography and video editing projects.
  • Designing and creating high-quality digital ads for Meta while taking charge of campaign planning and tracking.
