Description

The Marketing Coordinator will support the Director of Marketing & Communications in building brand awareness, executing content creation, and managing public relations for The Hazelton Hotel. With a strong emphasis on digital marketing, social media, and guest engagement, this role is essential to promoting the hotel, generating media coverage, and driving business growth.
Responsibilities:

Social media (across all owned platforms):

  • Content Creation: Develop and post high-quality content (minimum 3 posts per week), including Instagram Stories, Reels, and videos to maintain a consistent and engaging presence.
  • Community Engagement: Actively manage comments, direct messages, and interactions with users, fostering relationships and increasing brand visibility.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends, conduct hashtag research, and identify opportunities for engaging content.
  • YouTube Management: Oversee the YouTube channel, create custom cover artwork, write descriptions, and ensure regular updates.
  • Influencer Relations: Manage inbound influencer requests, assist with accommodation planning, and ensure a seamless experience.

Email Marketing

  • Newsletter Design & Copywriting: Develop newsletter templates for The Hazelton Hotel and Spa by Valmont, ensuring engaging content and brand consistency.
  • Subscriber Management: Organize and update subscriber lists via GuestFolio/Revinate for accurate and targeted distribution.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Track and analyze email campaign performance, optimizing engagement and subscriber growth.

Design & Marketing Collateral

  • Collateral Development: Design presentations, signage, flyers, invitations, menus, and digital displays, ensuring brand consistency.
  • OTA Asset Management: Update and optimize hotel listings on AMEX FHR, Expedia, LHW, Kiwi Travel Collection, and other OTA platforms.
  • Internal Asset Organization: Maintain and organize marketing materials within the internal drive.
  • Intelity & In-room Collateral: Ensure up-to-date digital and print collateral for in-room and guest communication.
  • Book4Time Updates: Manage monthly promotions and marketing-related content within the Book4Time system.

Internal Communications

  • Team Updates: Keep internal teams informed about media visits, influencer stays, and photoshoots, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Photo Release Management: Maintain up-to-date photo release documentation.

Photoshoot & Video Production Coordination

  • Mood Boards & Shot Lists: Develop initial creative direction for external agencies, ensuring alignment with brand vision.
  • Video Editing Notes: Provide clear feedback and guidance to agencies for video production projects.
  • On-Site Shoot Support: Assist with model coordination, prop setup, and liaising with internal departments.

Public Relations & Media Relations

  • Media & Influencer Stays: Assist with media accommodation requests, VIP amenities, and itinerary planning.
  • Giveaways & Partnerships: Coordinate contest logistics, prizes, and accommodations with internal teams.
  • Media Monitoring: Compile media coverage reports and draft internal summaries of key press highlights.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years social, digital or brand marketing experience including content creation for a business on social media
  • Highly creative individual with strong organizational skills, a passion for luxury hospitality, and experience in digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Work variety shifts, including weekends and holidays if required
  • Knowledge of photography or digital asset creation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising or Marketing, an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, editing and attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of SEO, Content Management Systems, Photoshop, Meta, Microsoft Office
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Job Type: Part-time

  • 8 hour shift
