Location: Hastings County (combination of in-person work in Tweed and Bancroft as well as some remote work)
Start Date: September 15, 2025
Hours: 25 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $21.50 per hour to start with the potential for future growth
Probation Period: there is a 3-month probationary period

Tweed & Company Theatre is a registered charity, and is a creator and producer of original Canadian musical theatre, as well as quality professional grassroots regional theatre. Active since the fall of 2009, the Company has produced several large scale original Canadian musicals as well as countless other Canadian & International productions, including major Broadway musicals. Tweed & Co is based in Tweed, ON, and owns and operates the Marble Arts Centre in Actinolite, operates the Tweed & Company Outdoor Stage in Tweed’s Memorial Park, and operates the Village Playhouse in the Town of Bancroft. Tweed & Company Theatre is led by a year-round staff of four as well as a Board of Directors of thirteen. The Company typically hires five seasonal employees during the busy summer months. The Company’s current admin team consists of Tim Porter (Artistic & Co-Executive Director), Emily Mewett (Managing & Co-Executive Director), Rebecca Ballarin (Artistic Producer), and Jocelyn Perry (Young Company Coordinator & Wardrobe Coordinator).

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Artistic & Co-Executive Director, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communication and promotional strategies to uphold and increase the public’s awareness of Tweed & Company Theatre. The Marketing Coordinator works closely with the Artistic & Co-Executive Director to establish a marketing strategy for the season and special events. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for evaluating the performance of campaigns, conducting market research and searching for trends to capitalize on the expansion of the Company’s brand awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Marketing Coordinator is someone who:

  • Has experience working in the arts; a theatre background is an asset, but not required
  • Has experience in graphic design and website creation/ editing; familiarity with Square and SimpleTix is an asset, but not required
  • Is familiar and comfortable with a variety of social media platforms
  • Is passionate about advocating for the arts
  • Is a creative problem solver and likes to think outside the box
  • Takes initiative to complete tasks delegated to them
  • Enjoys collaborating with team members (& having fun!)

Hours: 25 hours per week to start with the potential for future growth
Rate: $21.50/hour

Responsibilities
  • Creating and delivering promotional materials including graphics for social media, show graphics for the web in various sizes and posters to be printed, ads for local magazines/print/online
  • Drafting promotional copy for social media accounts, creating show programs, the theatre’s annual magazine
  • Maintaining the Company’s social media accounts
  • Collecting bios and headshots from cast and creative teams
  • Designing the theatre’s emailer - graphics, plan, and scheduling it on an almost weekly basis
  • Designing and collecting ads and promotional materials for season sponsors
  • Maintaining relationships with local radio stations, newspapers, and other media as well as expanding current media connections (establishing ads, setting up radio interviews, and ticket giveaways)
  • Maintaining and updating all website material as well as the Board portal (adding new documents and coordinating with Board Chair); includes building new webpages & setting up events in our ticket processor for new shows, activities, and seasons
  • Creating new marketing strategies with the Artistic & Co-ED; researching new platforms to partner and advertise with.
