Description

RMS Titanic Inc. is the exclusive steward of the Titanic wrecksite and home to TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition—a powerful, immersive experience that honors history’s most legendary ship and her passengers and crew. With permanent exhibitions in Las Vegas and Orlando—as well as traveling exhibitions throughout the world—our mission is to preserve Titanic’s legacy through conservation, education, and storytelling.
We’re looking for a part-time Copyeditor/Copywriter to help shape and polish our voice across digital, print, and in-person experiences. If you’re a stickler for grammar with a storyteller’s soul—and you love history—you’ll thrive here.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in copywriting and/or copyediting, preferably for museums, nonprofits, educational orgs, or cultural attractions
  • BA in English or background in journalism, writing, or history
  • Strong portfolio of polished writing samples across formats (email, web, editorial, social, etc.)
  • Excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and editorial best practices (Chicago style is a plus)
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and on-brand copy
  • Experience using tools like Asana, Figma, Microsoft 365, or similar
  • Passion for history, culture, museums, or storytelling is highly desirable
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a key member of the marketing team, you’ll transform research, campaign briefs, and raw drafts into compelling, brand-aligned content. You’ll ensure every word we share—online and off—honors the gravity of Titanic’s story while engaging and educating modern audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit and shape historically accurate research into blog-style articles for our website
  • Write 8–10 marketing emails per month based on campaign briefs (e.g., promotions, events, new artifacts, related merchandise)
  • Write and edit press releases
  • Proofread and edit copy for digital marketing campaigns, including paid social and email
  • Review and refine social media captions/posts for tone, accuracy, grammar, and clarity
  • Edit and proof website copy, blog entries, brochures, posters, fliers, and other collateral for public consumption
  • Review short-form video captions (social, promotional, experiential) for spelling, grammar, and content quality
  • Attend weekly marketing meetings & biweekly content/marketing meetings via Teams
  • Ensure all written content is historically respectful, emotionally resonant, and aligned with brand voice
  • Update and maintain house style guide/brand guidelines
