We’re hiring on behalf of Afterpay to help them build an exceptional in-house marketing data science team. If you’re a data science expert with a head for commercial outcomes, this opportunity is for you as a Marketing Data Scientist. This team works closely with Afterpay partners across the marketing function to measure and improve our ability to acquire, activate and retain customers across ANZ - the region where we started it all, and our home-ground. Here's what you'll be doing: You will be working across the entire marketing funnel and across all marketing channels in a wide range of marketing domains, using analytical tools and techniques to tackle the opportunities and challenges Afterpay has, as the market-leader. You will collaborate with senior team members to deliver analytics projects from scope and problem formulation to final recommendations and implementation. We are the thought partners of our growth and marketing teams and we strive to make an impact and help deliver OKRs. As a team member under the umbrella of the Global Marketing Science team, you will also collaborate with team-mates and stakeholders across North America and the UK, getting exposure to global best practices. We are much more than our job descriptions, but here’s where you will begin: Work closely with the ANZ Marketing team to understand and deliver their data and insights needs - acting as their trusted data science partner (stakeholder management skills are key) Help us understand marketing performance - channel level and holistically - through robust measurement strategies. This involves designing, executing and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests. Develop formalised processes to identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets & empower informed decision making for stakeholders. Support targeted business activities, including opportunities for product and process improvement with a focus on driving significant business growth. Build, monitor and analyse data reports/dashboards/pipelines and troubleshoot issues that arise What you’ll bring: Like us, you’ll be deeply committed to delivering positive outcomes for customers and passionate about shaping the future of Afterpay. The ideal background and skills you'll bring include: Quantitative background in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related disciplines Ability to do statistical analyses with minimal guidance including descriptive and inferential techniques 4+ years experience in analytical roles, using techniques such as customer profiling, A/B testing, ROI measurement, predictive modelling, regression and classification analyses Marketing domain knowledge across channels such as Paid Social, Email/Push, SEO/SEM, TV, Radio, Out-Of-Home is a big plus, along with Media Mix Modelling Proficient using SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data (Python is also advantageous) Experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau, Looker or PowerBI Strong problem solving and analytics skills, combined with effective judgment Great written and verbal communication skills to communicate insights with impact and influence Good project and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously effectively, with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment How we work: We work in a hybrid environment, both from home and at the Afterpay office in Melbourne.
