ABOUT THE ROLE:

Defender Safety is a dominating brand in the construction and industrial safety space, focused on delivering high-performance safety helmets, and accessories for the modern workforce. We’re carving out our position in a competitive market—and we’re looking for a creative lead who’s excited by the opportunity to help us become one of the top safety helmet brands in the industry.
This is a mid-level to junior art director role—ideal for someone who wants to take full creative control over a well-established brand system. You’ll be supported by our Creative Director during onboarding, but eventually expected to fully own brand consistency, campaign execution, and marketing output over time.
An interest in construction, manufacturing, utilities, or other blue-collar industries is a plus. While we don’t require previous experience in safety or OSHA-regulated fields, any familiarity with these industries—or even just the curiosity to learn and market effectively to them—will go a long way in helping you succeed here.
Salary: $70,000–$80,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design day-to-day marketing creative across digital and print, including social media, email, web, blog, Amazon, and packaging
  • Create campaign content and paid/organic visuals for social platforms
  • Build and deploy emails in Klaviyo (or similar), including layout, design, and light copywriting
  • Design and maintain visuals for Shopify and Amazon: product pages, A+ content, homepage banners, and promotions
  • Manage blog content using AI-assisted drafts and create accompanying visual assets
  • Design occasional print and packaging collateral such as inserts, sell sheets, signage, etc.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all channels
  • Contribute to content planning and campaign mapping
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members to ensure smooth execution
