Description

Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives is looking for a Marketing Event & Program Specialist who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs designed to support and engage community and cooperative members. This role works closely with the Cooperative Development Manager, member cooperatives, community organizations, and other stakeholders to create a pathway for workforce planning and improved member engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, or other related fields. Focused curriculum in human development desired. Relevant on-the-job experience or education above and beyond that described above may be substituted for part of the experience and/or education requirement.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Drivers License.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related field or function is preferred.
  • Experience in electric utility or energy-related field is strongly preferred.

ABILITIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong communication (oral and written), organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about personal development.
  • Empathy and innovative thinking.
  • Knowledge of electric utility industry desired.
  • Working knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Proven ability to organize and coordinate event planning and programs.
    Physical Requirements
    Frequent: Sedentary work, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, close visual acuity, work with a computer, keyboard, communicate with others.
    Periodic: Lift objects of 50 lbs. or less.
    Work Environment
    Travel approximately 25 percent or less, both within and out-of-state, including overnight stays. Work outside the normal schedule is required on occasion depending on business needs
Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement programs that promote personal growth, education, and social skills, including but not limited to scholarships, Youth Tour to Washington D.C., Explore Ag, Junior Achievement, and E3 Smart.
  • Coordination: Coordinate activities, events, and workshops for up-and-coming cooperative members and community participants.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support for career and professional development. Support and navigate growth and development challenges to aid in achieving member goals.
  • Community and Member Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with member cooperatives, community organizations, schools, and communities to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, adjusting as needed to improve effectiveness.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports on program activities, outcomes, and participant progress.
  • Works cross functionally with the Cooperative Development Manager and department to plan, organize and implement training, education, association meetings and conferences.
  • Supports member cooperative events (annual meetings, fairs, family day, etc.) as requested and directed by the Manager of Cooperative Development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
