Overview CalAmp is seeking a Market Research & Data Analysis Intern for a 90-day project focused on analyzing technical data, visualizing insights, and uncovering trends that inform business and product strategy within the connected vehicle and telematics industry. This role blends analytical and business thinking and is ideal for someone who can interpret complex technical data and transform it into insights that support executive-level decision making. The intern will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Product Marketing to analyze data, research market trends, and deliver findings that inform future strategy. The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of data analysis methods, curiosity about vehicle technology, and the ability to communicate data-driven insights clearly through visualizations and presentations. Responsibilities Analyze and visualize large technical datasets to identify patterns, correlations, and insights. Conduct structured market research to evaluate technology capabilities and emerging trends. Synthesize technical information and translate it into clear, data-backed narratives for executive presentations. Deliver interim presentations at each project phase that summarize progress, findings, and recommendations. Develop analysis, charts, and summaries that make complex information accessible to non-technical audiences. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Product Marketing to validate findings and ensure accuracy. Identify trends, gaps, or opportunities within the analyzed data that may inform strategic planning. Support the creation of final deliverables and executive reports summarizing data-driven insights and strategic implications. Qualifications Must Haves: Bachelor’s degree or upper-level coursework in Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical field. Proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization. Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and confidently to senior leadership. Interest in automotive technology, connected systems, or related industries. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across technical and business teams. Preferred: Experience in market research, competitive analysis, or product strategy. Familiarity with technical data structures or engineering concepts related to connected devices. Proficiency in SQL for querying and organizing structured data sets. Experience creating executive-level presentations and visual storytelling. Ability to summarize technical findings into concise Market Minimum USD $20.00/Hr. Market Maximum USD $30.00/Hr.
