Marketing Intern – Public Relations and Communications  REPORTS TO: Marketing & Sales Director and Marketing Manager  DEPARTMENT: Marketing  PAY RATE: $19.50 per hour    ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS: April 24, 2026  ANTICIPATED FILL DATE: May 8, 2026 POSITION SUMMARY: All Marketing Interns will support the execution of marketing, sales and event initiatives within a live entertainment, theme & water park environment. While each role has a primary concentration, interns will also be expected to collaborate across teams and assist wherever needed. This internship provides hands-on experience in Marketing with an emphasis on public relations, communications, and email marketing. Interns will support media relations, branding and content development, while gaining exposure to broader Marketing & Group Sales initiatives, special events and park operations.  SHARED RESPONSIBILITES:  * Support the planning and execution of all marketing and sales initiatives  * Provide on-site support for events, promotions and brand activations  * Deliver excellent guest service via email, phone and in-person by responding to guest questions, comments and concerns   * Maintain awareness of park offerings, ticket products, operating schedules and special events to ensure accurate guest-facing communication  * Collaborate with cross-departmental teams including Operations, Revenue, Maintenance, Park Leadership and more  * Maintain a clean, safe and professional work environment  * Perform other duties as assigned  SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:  * Assist with writing, editing and distributing press releases, media alerts and other PR materials  * Support media relations efforts including research, maintaining media lists and coordinating outreach  * Coordinate on-site media visits, content creator visits and press events, including logistics and follow-up  * Help update website content related to events, promotions and announcements  * Draft, build and schedule email campaigns using Constant Contact  * Contribute to email content development, including subject lines, copy, images and basic formatting  * Maintain and update email contact lists, including segmentation and quality control  * Analyze email performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates and engagement  * Monitor online reviews, social mentions and guest feedback, responding or escalating as appropriate  * Draft talking points, key messaging and internal communications to support marketing initiatives  * Track and compile media coverage, including building recaps and summaries  * Repurpose press coverage and media features across marketing and communication channels  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  * Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms  * Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across teams  * Interest in public relations, communications, copywriting and/or email marketing  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  * Must be at least 18 years old  * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or a related field of study; or be in the process of earning a bachelor's degree in a related area of study  * Excellent written and verbal communication skills  * Familiar with Microsoft Office programs, major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) and Canva or other basic design tools  * Ability to work in fast-paced, guest-facing environments  * Able to work independently and with a team  * Must possess oral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with Guests and other Team Members effectively  * May be required to work in various weather conditions  * Available holidays and weekends  * Available to work overtime and have flexible work hours  * All job offers contingent on passing a criminal, drug, alcohol and social security background check  * Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
