Description

INTERNET MATTERS

Internet Matters is a not-for-profit organisation committed to helping parents and professionals to keep children and young people safe online.
We are one of the leading online safety organisations in the UK, working with major global brands including founding members BT/EE, Sky and Virgin Media O2 as well as partners such as TikTok, Samsung and Roblox.
We’re here to offer the best advice and information available to help parents, carers and professionals engage in the online lives of children and young people, empowering them to manage the risks they may face online.

BACKGROUND TO REQUIREMENT

Children face significant issues when they are online, such as contact from strangers, exposure to inappropriate content and bullying, with over 70% experiencing some kind of harm. Negative headlines about the dangers children can be exposed to have become more frequent, and in parallel successive governments are taking steps to tackle the issues through increased regulation.
Internet Matters has a high profile and strong reputation in the online safety space. Internet Matters is seen as a trusted source of information and advice by parents and teachers to guide them through the complexities of the digital world. 41% of parents are aware of us, and 93% take positive action after visiting our website.
We strive to be the ‘Trusted Voice’ in representing the views of parents and families and we are frequently asked to share our expertise with a variety of media outlets. We use our programme of ongoing research to inform regular marketing campaigns which support parents with advice and guidance to keep their family safe online, and many of these campaigns are developed in collaboration with our members and partners.
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Lead to work within our marketing team to lead a variety of marketing activities including leading the development of selected Internet Matters marketing campaigns, selected partner relationships and marketing activation activity and managing inbound media enquiries.
This varied role requires a proactive self-starter who is solution-focussed and can work effectively cross-functionally with internal teams and independently with our partners. Additional responsibilities include curating parent and partner facing newsletters and managing the design of reports, as well as ad hoc support for other members of the marketing team.
