About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing Manager to take ownership of our marketing strategy and drive significant growth across the Group.
The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and a proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing strategies, with a strong focus on digital marketing, CRM, and automation.
You will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by leading the complete overhaul of the Geosynthetics Ltd website. This project will be crucial in enhancing our brand image and driving online engagement. As a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of our marketing efforts, from planning and strategy to execution and analysis.
You will need to live a commutable distance from the local office as you will be working from here several days a week to collaborate with the wider team.
Key responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Execution:
- Alongside the Marketing Director, develop and implement marketing plans to support the growth of the business.
- In conjunction with other members of the team and industry partners, create compelling content and collateral to promote the business and its product(s) across various channels, including digital, print, and industry events.
- Coordinate with external agencies to produce high-quality marketing materials.
- Project manage the company’s attendance at exhibitions and trade events relevant to the geosynthetics industry, ensuring all elements are fully costed, timed, and project planned to ensure successful attendance and delivery against agreed event objectives.
Content and Creative:
- Develop and manage content for various marketing channels, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
- Be a proficient user of design-based applications (e.g., InDesign, Premier Pro or similar) to devise and create campaigns, engaging social media posts, internal branded collateral, presentations, video snippets, etc., with external design agency support.
- Coordinate and oversee the creation of video content to support product promotion, application examples, and case studies.
Digital Marketing:
- Work closely with colleagues in the sales team to execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, email marketing, and social media.
- Monitor and analyse digital marketing performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimisation.
- Utilise marketing platforms (we use SugarCRM to manage campaigns and customer interactions.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape within the geosynthetics industry.
- Gather and analyse data to inform marketing strategies and decisions.
- Track key marketing metrics, activities, spends, and outcomes, providing insights to the Marketing Director.
Project Management and Collaboration:
- Take ownership of marketing projects, planning, delivering, executing, and reporting on initiatives that drive awareness, recognition, and engagement with target audiences in the civil engineering and environmental sectors.
- Work alongside other teams within the business to coordinate marketing activities.
- Provide support and marketing guidance to the broader marketing team.
Additional Duties:
- Once the new website has been launched, assist with maintaining and updating the company website and content management systems.
- Stay current with marketing best practices and industry trends, particularly within the geosynthetics and related sectors.

Person Specification:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Marketing or relevant prior experience.
- Ability to handle and deliver projects to deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Creative design skills and the ability to craft campaigns and other creative content.
- Proficiency in design tools like Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and creative.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of current marketing practices.
- Integrity is paramount.
- Team player, comfortable with supporting and accepting support from colleagues.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to make informed decisions.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or similar industry.
- Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Familiarity with marketing platforms within CRM systems (SugarCRM).
- Experience in website management and content creation.
- Experience in the geosynthetics industry.
