OVERVIEW

Manages the overall planning, budgeting, production and coordination of the Island Insurance Company (“Island”) marketing plan. Oversee technology and media aspects of Marketing/Agency Relations, including but not limited to development and management of social media content calendars and posting schedules, analyzing social media metrics, website management, campaign development (digital, print, broadcast), collaboration with public relations vendors, and collaboration with product development teams in support of the Island Insurance corporate marketing plan. Oversee the execution of larger campaigns and promotions in addition to providing support to group accounts. Oversee and manage all Marketing/Agency Relations Consultants and Assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or journalism preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years related work experience in advertising or marketing, preferably with Hawaii businesses.
  • An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

Marketing/Agency Relations Management

  • Direct the work of Island’s electronic, print media and graphic production vendors and ensures quality standards, budgets, and deadlines are maintained.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and implement marketing/agency relations communication materials to promote Island’s programs to its target audiences, agents, agency partners, policyholders, and the general public.
  • Handle copywriting and editing for print and/or electronic marketing materials.
  • Develop annual marketing, agency relations and events plan and budget that supports the Island Insurance marketing objectives.
  • Oversee monthly administration of budget, including, but not limited to, expense verification, monthly budget review, and overall resource allocation.
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries and requests made by the President, Chief Executive Officer and/or other Executives.
  • Represent Island at industry and public events as deemed appropriate.
  • Assist Marketing Consultants with events, seminars, promotions, and other company related activities.
  • Display a positive, service-oriented attitude toward agencies, insureds, and employees within the company; promote the economic, social, and political interests of Island Insurance in the community.
  • Support the implementation of all Marketing/Agency Relations plans and objectives.
  • Collaborate with team to create and manage Marketing/Agency Relations materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital assets.
  • Prepare reports, charts, graphs, proposals and presentations as requested.
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries and requests made by the Executive Leadership team.
  • When called upon, represent the department at marketing industry, insurance industry, and other public and community events and activities.
  • Support the team by assisting other Marketing Consultants with promotional, company, and community events and activities.
  • Participate in seminars and classes for knowledge and professional development.
  • Provide support to other Tradewind Group affiliates, as directed.

Media & Internet Marketing

  • Oversee creation and management of the company’s social media and internet marketing opportunities.
  • Develop and execute social media and marketing strategies:
  • Create and implement comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and online reputation.
  • Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications to optimize content strategies and engagement across platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Collaborate with product development teams (Commercial lines, Personal lines and IC International) to market new insurance products.
  • Create and implement marketing strategies to promote and educate agents and customers about new offerings.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and emerging platforms to keep company’s strategy current.
  • Manage Social Media Accounts:
  • Oversee the daily management of social media accounts, including posting, scheduling, and responding to comments and messages.
  • Ensure brand consistency in tone, voice, and terminology across all social media channels.
  • Content Creation and Curation:
  • Develop engaging and relevant content tailored to specific social media platforms.
  • Curate content from industry news, thought leaders, and influencers to share on company social channels, fostering community and thought leadership.
  • Develop and produce training videos and materials for internal teams and agencies.
  • Design and conduct agent satisfaction surveys to gather feedback and insights. Analyze survey results and recommend improvements bases on findings.
  • Internet Marketing, Website Management, and SEO:
  • Implement and optimize paid social media and internet advertising campaigns.
  • Develop and execute internet marketing campaigns that leverage SEO, PPC, email marketing, and content marketing to drive traffic, engagement, and conversions.
  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance and optimization of the company website and intranet.
  • Manage website design and functionality improvements, including user experience enhancements.
  • Ensure website content is up-to-date, relevant and aligned with Marketing/Agency Relations goals and objectives.
  • Analyze website and social media analytics to improve search engine rankings and drive targeted traffic to company websites and social media profiles. Work with research companies to administer ad tracking and research methodologies when needed to measure advertising effectiveness.
  • Media Relations and PR:
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, PR firms, and influencers to secure media coverage and collaborative opportunities.
  • Work with graphic production vendors, public relations companies and research companies to ensure that quality standards, budgets and deadlines are maintained.
  • Develop promotional partnerships with public relations vendors and develop and execute public relations strategies focused on building relationships with agency partners and individual agents.
  • Coordinate media outreach and manage press releases and other external communications.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials to promote the company’s initiatives and successes.
  • Campaign Analysis and Reporting:
  • Track, analyze, and report on the performance of social media, marketing campaigns, and internet marketing efforts, using data-driven insights to optimize future strategies.
  • Provide regular reports to management on social media and online marketing performance, including key metrics.
  • Crisis Management and Response:
  • Monitor social media channels for potential reputational risks and develop strategies for mitigating negative publicity or customer concerns.
  • Quickly respond to emerging crises or negative comments to protect and enhance the company’s reputation.

Budget Preparation & Management

  • Prepare annual budget resource allocation relating to Media, which will be utilized in overall Marketing/Agency Relations annual budget.
  • Handle monthly administration of budget, including, but not limited to, expense verification, monthly budget review and overall resource allocation for agency relations.
  • Track expenses, analyze cost-effectiveness, and ensure budget compliance.
  • Assist in development and management of overall Marketing/Agency Relations department budget.

Supervise Direct Report(s) and Actively Seek Employee Engagement

  • Serve as a role model, lead by example, and be open to feedback.
  • Hire, supervise, counsel, discipline, and terminate assigned staff as appropriate. Is responsible for training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of policies.

  • Completes the Holomua Annual Review process by established deadlines.
  • Provide annual goals to direct reports
