Description The Marketing Manager supports the Bank’s mission and business goals by leading strategic marketing efforts that strengthen brand awareness and reflect the Bank’s commitment to the communities we serve. Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience and Innovation, this role helps guide brand direction, ensures alignment with customer experience strategies, and collaborates closely with the Communications Specialist to maintain consistent messaging. The Marketing Manager also provides leadership to the marketing team and oversees key tools, vendors, and processes that support marketing success. Essential Functions – Strategic Marketing & Brand Support – Collaborate with the Director of Customer Experience and Innovation on brand development and ensure marketing initiatives reflect consistent voice, tone, and visual identity across all customer touchpoints. Develop and implement annual marketing plans and budgets that aligns with SBSI strategic objectives and assists Lines of Business (LOB) leaders with meeting their key goals and objectives, including customer acquisition, product promotion, and community engagement. Team Leadership & Supervision – Provide day-to-day supervision of marketing team members, including assigning work, setting performance expectations, and providing coaching and development support. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members as needed. Conduct performance reviews, approve timecards, and address performance concerns in coordination with Human Resources. Promote a healthy, collaborative, and productive work environment, including participation in workplace safety and culture initiatives. Marketing Technology & Vendor Oversight – Manage the marketing technology stack (CMS, email marketing, analytics tools, scheduling platforms, etc.) to ensure tools are effective, up-to-date, and aligned with strategic needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing vendors, creative agencies, and media buyers; negotiate contracts, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet brand and compliance standards. Project Management & Marketing Operations – Lead the end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives, managing scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication. Develop creative briefs and project plans in collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Oversee the production and placement of marketing materials, including branch merchandising, digital displays, and print collateral. Identify and implement workflow efficiencies to improve execution and collaboration across marketing functions. Collaboration & Communication – Partner with the Communications Specialist to align marketing and public relations messaging and ensure cohesive external communication. Coordinate with departments across the bank (Retail, Lending, Operations, HR, etc.) to support business goals with targeted marketing solutions. Support community engagement initiatives by promoting local events, partnerships, and sponsorships through appropriate channels. Analysis & Reporting – Monitor marketing performance using KPIs and analytics tools; provide regular reporting on campaign ROI and digital engagement. Stay informed of industry trends, customer behaviors, and competitor activity to inform strategy and messaging. Compliance, Risk & Brand Integrity – Ensure all marketing communications meet regulatory, brand, and accessibility standards. Maintain documentation of marketing policies, procedures, and approvals in accordance with internal and external audit requirements. Work with internal compliance partners to ensure timely review and approval of advertising materials. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in financial services or a regulated industry. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and deliver strategic marketing plans. Strong knowledge of multichannel campaign development, content marketing, and brand management. Experience with marketing platforms such as CMS systems, email automation tools, analytics dashboards, and creative software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance considerations in marketing. Experience managing creative agencies and third-party vendors. Understanding of financial products and services. Working knowledge of tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar. Dependable and punctual, adhering to attendance standards and demonstrating accountability in all actions. Ability to work independently and as a team player, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment. Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. Proven ability to deliver quality work during times of increased volume, demonstrating resilience and a strong work ethic. Ability to travel to all Bank locations, ensuring a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting organizational needs.
