Duties and Responsibilities
(South Indian Restaurant Group – United Kingdom)
1. Brand Strategy and Positioning
Develop and implement a marketing strategy to continue to position the restaurant group as a leading destination for authentic South Indian cuisine in the UK.
Maintain consistent brand identity across all locations, menus, and marketing materials.
Highlight the cultural heritage and unique flavours of South Indian food while appealing to both South Asian diaspora and wider UK audiences.
2. Digital Marketing and Social Media
Manage social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) with engaging content, including food photography, chef stories, and behind-the-scenes features.
Plan and execute paid digital campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads) to increase brand awareness, reservations, and takeaway orders.
Oversee the restaurant group’s website, ensuring it is optimised for SEO, mobile-friendly, and updated with offers, events, and menus.
3. Promotions and Campaigns
Plan seasonal and festival-based promotions (e.g., Onam Sadhya, Pongal specials, Diwali feasts).
Develop loyalty programs and customer retention strategies for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery services.
Coordinate with delivery platforms (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat) for featured listings and promotional visibility.
4. Public Relations and Community Engagement
Build relationships with food bloggers, influencers, and journalists to secure reviews, features, and media coverage.
Organise and promote community events, cookery demonstrations, and tasting sessions.
Represent the restaurant group at food festivals, cultural events, and charity initiatives in the UK.
5. Market Research and Competitor Analysis
Conduct regular research on market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings in the UK hospitality sector.
Identify opportunities for menu innovations and pricing strategies to stay competitive.
6. Partnership Development
Collaborate with cultural organisations, travel agencies, and corporate clients for group dining packages.
Establish partnerships with Indian grocery stores, event planners, and cultural associations for cross-promotional activities.
7. Customer Relationship Management
Implement CRM systems to track customer feedback, reservations, and order history.
Analyse customer reviews on platforms like Google, TripAdvisor, and Yelp, and work with operations to address concerns.
8. Budgeting and Reporting
Prepare and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Track and report on campaign performance, ROI, and overall brand growth to senior management.
