QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS (ABOUT YOU):

  • 5+ years in Marketing and/or Marketing Management role
  • Completion of post-secondary education
  • Advanced Adobe Design applications and project management
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills (verbal, written, presentations)
  • Strong evaluation capabilities; to interpret business needs and recommend effective solutions that meet business objectives
  • Ability to implement change management strategies using consultation, facilitation, negotiation, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Embraces change and champions corporate initiatives
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle may be required.

Responsibilities

ROLE:

This role will be responsible for the deployment and execution of Marketing programs and initiatives within the Region. Supporting Local and National Sales growth and a Customer First culture. This includes; Social Media, direct customer marketing, promotions, performance recognition programs, marketing initiatives, event management, loyalty programs, establishing strong vendor relationships, and internal marketing in partnership with the Sysco Canada Marketing team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development of marketing strategy, assets, programs, and growth initiatives in the Region including but not limited to; product and services marketing, social media, event planning, performance recognition programs, promotions, Sysco Rewards, brand positioning, and industry associations.
  • Own communication excellence and marketing to our three levels of customers: External, Internal, and Vendor partners.
  • Develop, execute, measure, and report out on Local Sales Promotions, with the ability to strategically make recommendations based on results, insights, and market analytics.
  • Support and manage the Revolution Vendor program and relationships with all vendors to develop growth strategies for the marketplace.
  • Be the ambassador for and expert on programs such as Sysco Rewards, Sysco Advantage, New Customer Onboarding, Marketing/Menu Services, and all other internal resources in our sales toolkit as found on Sysco Kitchen.
  • Manage the execution of the regional calendar of marketing activities, including: event planning, trade shows, general sales meetings (GSM), catalogues, sales growth programs, digital communications, and customer loyalty programs.
  • Partner with Sales and Merchandising Leadership to develop growth and communication strategies based on opportunities, market insights, and learnings from other regions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Sysco Canada marketing team, maintaining strong alignment and sharing of resources, strategies, processes, and tools.
  • Plan and maintain the regional marketing budget.
  • Support a Customers First Mindset while carrying out daily duties
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
