WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change. ShareTheMeal was launched in 2015 as the first pilot of WFP’s Innovation Accelerator, which among other things supports start-ups and innovators in developing their ideas for zero hunger. ShareTheMeal currently has more than 9.3 million users worldwide, who have shared more than 160 million meals (US$ 100 million). WFP is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy for individual giving, and ShareTheMeal is a key driver for this strategy going forward. The team, located in Berlin and remotely, is focused on increasing the funds raised to help get to zero hunger by further developing the app to include new and innovative features, increasing the engagement of existing users and growing the user base through marketing and communication initiatives. As the user base has grown, there is a significant opportunity to increase funds raised from existing users and deliver an exceptional experience to build a long-term relationship with each supporter. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT We are looking for a data-driven Marketing Manager to join our marketing team. This role will focus on growing our donor base through campaign optimisation and experimentation, AB testing, planning, and execution across paid channels (mainly Meta, TikTok, ASA, Google Ads, Reddit ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES The Consultant, reporting to the Head of The ead of Growth Marketing- ShareTheMeal, is expected to: • Design and manage the acquisition experimentation workstream (A/B testing) across paid media channels to optimize creatives, targeting, and messaging • Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks, test hypotheses, and generate actionable insights. • Use data tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, MMP dashboards) to track and report on performance. •Recommend audience refinements, bidding strategies, and creative improvements to maximize conversion rates. • Partner with internal creative, product, and content teams to inform future iterations based on test outcomes. • Own the intake process and the experimentation roadmap • Track campaign performance and contribute to post-campaign reporting and insights documenting test design, results, and learnings. • Lead the execution, and optimization of high-impact digital performance marketing strategies to support the ShareTheMeal app and website. • Develop comprehensive media plans that align with business goals, ensuring strategic allocation of budgets across channels and markets for maximum impact and returns. • Regularly analyze data to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts and provide insights for optimization. • Explore and test new acquisition channels to diversify fundraising efforts and reach new audiences. • Utilize data insights and behavioral analysis to identify and engage with different personas, optimizing campaign messaging and creative to increase conversion rates and supporters’ retention. DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT • Execution and documentation of key A/B tests across paid channels. • Support in the timely launch of high-quality paid campaigns. • Performance insights and test learnings shared with the team • Key campaigns are prepared and executed in a timely manner and to high quality standards • Impact of the campaigns is measured and documented; the reports are handed over to the Head of Marketing • A portfolio of efficient marketing campaigns that successfully maximize funds from new and existing supporters globally, in line with fundraising targets. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Education • University degree in marketing, communication, international relations, computer science or a related field. Work history • 5 years's experience managing Search Ads marketing campaigns • Experience in managing multi-million budgets Hard skills • Data-driven and detail-oriented; expert in performance marketing. • Proven track record of hitting CPA/ROAS goals in performance-driven environments • Proficiency in Meta Ads, TikTok ads, Google Ads Editor, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and conversion tracking • Familiar with scripts, automation, and feed-based ad structures • Excellent Excel/Sheets skills for data analysis • Google Ads Certification or Meta certification is a plus Soft skills • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative. • Ability to make technical decisions that balance platform-specific needs with cross-platform efficiency. • Excellent problem-solving skills • Ability to interact with managers and stakeholders with maturity and tact. • Mature judgment with strong interpersonal skills. • Collaborative spirit able to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures. • Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy. • Adaptability to rapidly evolving mobile technology landscape. • Fully committed and motivated to achieve the aims of the World Food Programme. • Language(s) • Excellent command of spoken and written English. • Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language would be a plus (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).
