Noisy Creek, the parent company of The Stranger, Portland Mercury, Chicago Reader, EverOut, and Bold Type Tickets, is seeking a Marketing & Production Coordinator for the events division of productions. Noisy Productions produces bold, culture-defining experiences that bring our readers and communities together. At the center of this work is the internationally touring HUMP! Film Festival — a one-of-a-kind celebration of sex-positive, DIY cinema that has been smutting up screens since 2005. Today, HUMP! is our flagship event and a major revenue driver, with live in-person screenings across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, as well as online streaming experiences that reach audiences worldwide. We anticipate many exciting and entrepreneurial concepts for the future, which this role would be critical in helping to create. In addition to HUMP!, Noisy Productions curates a growing catalogue of revenue-generating and brand awareness events, including live comedy shows, political candidate forums, citywide promotional weeks, and other large-scale (500+ attendee) events. The Role The Marketing & Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of Noisy Creek’s events portfolio, including the HUMP! Film Festival and events produced by Noisy Creek publications, including The Stranger, Portland Mercury, and the Chicago Reader. This role provides marketing and production support across multiple event brands. We’re looking for someone detail-oriented, proactive, and relationship-driven who thrives in a fast-paced, creative events environment. Marketing Support Email Marketing Collaborate with the Head of Marketing & Creative to develop and distribute marketing emails to the HUMP! subscriber base (108k+), including city-specific campaigns, sales announcements, event updates, and newsletters. Assist in creating compelling, on-brand copy and coordinating visuals for email content, collaborating with Digital Strategy & Community Engagement Manager and Head of Marketing & Creative to ensure consistent messaging Build and maintain email marketing calendars for events and initiatives In select cities, reserve dedicated emails through Noisy Creek publication marketing teams and oversee creation of dedicated email copy Maintain and expand the HUMP! email marketing list, including extracting and importing new ticket buyer data or subscribers Assist with subscriber list segmentation and development of targeted campaigns for different audiences. General Marketing Support Support organization, fulfillment tracking and administration of external marketing relationships supporting Noisy Productions, including sponsorships, cross-promotional partners, and trade for promotion agreements to ensure all contracted deliverables are executed accurately and on time. Assist in compiling campaign performance reports and sales pacing summaries to inform marketing strategy. Assist with creative request workflow, ensuring all requests are submitted to the design team and assets are delivered on schedule Maintain all creative assets for each event brand and season in consistent, organized system within shared folders Ensure creative assets, copy and other deliverables are provided to Noisy Creek publication marketing teams in accordance with their production and advertising timelines Production Support Venue Booking & Management In collaboration with the Production team, research and secure venues for the HUMP! Film Festival and other live events across multiple markets, seeking unique, creative spaces that reflect the Noisy Creek brand. Maintain and expand a comprehensive venue database, ensuring information is current and accessible to the team. Negotiate, hold, and confirm event dates in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Manage venue contracting, rental payment and settlement workflow in partnership with Director of Events, ensuring all invoices are paid according to contract terms and meticulously tracked Establish and maintain strong working relationships with venue contacts, building partnerships that support long-term growth. Assess new venue opportunities to expand the reach of the HUMP! Film Festival in both existing and emerging markets. Production Support Support management of Noisy Productions events in the ticketing platform, including event creation, inventory change, confirmation texts, messages to customers, sponsor information, host information, event details, etc. As directed by Production, facilitate event ticketing needs, including ticket pulls, promotional codes, venue/date/time changes, and response to customer requests Support event budgeting and expense tracking for venue-related costs Provide general administrative support to the Events team, including scheduling, reporting, project coordination, and response to customer emails Work events on-site as needed, representing HUMP! and supporting production, press and partner activations Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications 2+ years of experience in event coordination, production, or venue management (arts, entertainment, or festival experience strongly preferred). Excellent project management skills: able to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and moving parts simultaneously. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; comfortable negotiating and interfacing with venue partners. Familiar with digital marketing platforms (Mailchimp or equivalent software, social scheduling tools, Google Analytics) and project management software. Experience with digital marketing design and layout is strongly preferred. Passion for alternative media, queer and sex-positive communities. Knowledge of live event production elements (A/V, staging, seating, etc.) a plus. Familiarity with film festival operations and/or adult-focused events is a bonus. Ability to travel for on-site support at events.
