Alstern Solicitors is an SRA-regulated law firm based in Canary Wharf. We are a small growing firm specialising in immigration, property conveyancing, family law, wills trusts probate. We are seeking a Vietnamese-speaking student to join our Marketing and Sales team on a placement year internship. This is an ideal opportunity for a student who is passionate about marketing, confident in communication and wants to showcase their marketing experience and skillsets in the legal services sector.
This role is open only to students who are currently studying at university and whose degree includes a placement year as part of the academic programme.
You do not have experience in relation to our relevant services and needs , but we believe you could be a good fit for our firm, we may offer you a one or two-weeks work shadowing. This will allow us to further assess your suitability before making a final offer decision for your placement year.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Language: Fluent in Vietnamese with clear and neutral pronunciation; strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Sales Mindset: Able to understand client needs, recommend appropriate services, and confidently guide conversations toward conversion.
  • Marketing Tools: Basic to intermediate experience using Canva, CapCut, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, or similar platforms.
  • Brand Awareness: Understanding of visual branding principles and ability to support consistent brand presentation.
  • Video Creation: Experience or strong interest in short-form video creation and editing for online platforms.
  • Customer Service: Empathetic, attentive, and professional in client-facing interactions.
  • Organisation & Initiative: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and take initiative without close supervision.
  • Team Collaboration: Willing to support colleagues and contribute positively to a professional, multicultural office environment.
  • IT Proficiency: Confident using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams) and general digital platforms.
  • Business Awareness: Interest in how law firms operate, with a desire to support growth and business development.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be currently enrolled in a UK university degree that includes a placement year.
  • The placement must be formally recognised by your academic institution.
  • Must be eligible to work full-time in the UK for the 12-month placement duration.
  • Prior experience (min. 1 year) in sales, marketing, or a related role is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with sales outreach to Vietnamese-speaking communities, converting leads into clients.
  • Respond to enquiries and professionally manage communications across phone, email, and online platforms.
  • Use the Red, Amber, Green (RAG) system to prioritise sales leads.
  • Support client onboarding and ensure high-quality client service throughout the sales process.
  • Promote existing and new legal services to increase visibility and generate business.
  • Execute and monitor digital marketing campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram).
  • Create visual content, including flyers, videos, and reels using tools like Canva and CapCut and Affinity
  • Contribute to brand development and ensure consistency across digital platforms.
  • Support planning and execution of marketing initiatives aligned with firm objectives.
  • Collect and analyse client feedback, supporting improvements in both sales and service delivery.
  • Coordinate with solicitors and internal teams to align messaging and sales objectives.
  • Research market trends, client behaviour, and competitor activity to guide strategy.
