JOB DESCRIPTION:

Shift: First Shift
Mercantile Bank, a United Community Bank, is in search of a Marketing Specialist focusing on digital content and website management. This position will assist with the development and management of the Bank’s digital content and Bank websites. Will also assist in supporting the marketing department in the planning, directing, and coordination of marketing the Bank’s products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform necessary research and generate ideas for content marketing, including email, blogs and social media posts that educate, inform and convey a sense of community and build following
  • Ensure the Bank’s social media pages and content are current and visually attractive
  • Monitor social media channels for inquiries, comments and posts that need addressed and assist in drafting and posting appropriate and timely responses
  • Actively participate in the development of and updating of the content on company websites
  • Develop proficiency with website content management system to support the department as needed
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and community activities (participation at most events is encouraged)
  • Perform daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting courteous, respectful, and professional behavior at all times
  • Maintain familiarity with bank products and services
  • Maintain familiarity with all regulatory standards
  • Maintain familiarity with and uphold all Bank policies and procedures including policies and procedures related to this position
  • Complete all training requirements as assigned
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Computer Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Experience with social media platforms

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work/training experience preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Previous customer service skills preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to practice discretion and handle confidential information in a professional manner
