The Marketing and Communications department at Ivey Business School plays an important role in shaping the school’s public profile. This includes internal and external communication strategies and marketing programs that enhance and protect Ivey’s brand and reputation; advance the school’s position with its key stakeholders; promote Ivey’s world-class research and thought leadership; and drive broader national and international awareness and interest in the school’s programs. The team plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing plans that amplify Ivey’s brand and deliver a consistent brand message and market presence. We provide marketing, communication, media, and event-planning support for the school and work closely with internal project managers and external vendors to ensure project plans are developed and executed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Critical element of the department’s mandate is to have a positive impact on the recruitment of participants to the school’s programs. The team works closely with Ivey’s degree program and executive education teams to achieve program enrolment objectives. Position Overview: The Marketing Specialist is exceptionally organized and a multi-tasking pro. Working in Ivey’s Marketing and Communications department, they will develop and manage project plans for multiple stakeholder groups ranging from program recruitment campaigns through to data analysis and reporting. The individual’s analytic abilities are a great complement to their organization skills. They have their eye on the numbers and play a key role in driving our team's data-informed approach to marketing decisions. This includes planning and executing paid digital campaigns and working closely with external agency partners to deliver on shared goals. We are a well-integrated cross-functional team committed to high-quality work and continuous improvement. Qualifications: 1. Project Management * Develop and manage project plans to ensure their efficient and successful completion. Depending on the size and scope of the project, the Marketing Specialist will often be the project lead and will manage the contributions required from a variety of stakeholders including external vendors. * Write and edit a range of compelling marketing content across channels, from email and paid ads to web copy and collateral. Take on special projects as required. This can include research, writing, analysis, and presentation decks. * Contribute to creative ideation on a variety of campaigns. * Support or lead production and tactical creative brief development and creative reviews. 2. Reporting, Analysis and Financial Management * Analyze and interpret data from multiple sources and build insightful reports that allow the team to track the performance of our efforts and investments. This includes weekly, monthly and ad-hoc requests, along with campaign reporting and analysis. * Maintain a rolling budget tracker that provides the Director and team with real-time visibility into spend commitments and remaining budget, and reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and vendor payments in coordination with Finance. * Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, tracking actuals vs. plan and flagging variances proactively with context and recommendations. Includes Ivey Trading Company reporting. * Manage marketing campaign metrics (ROI) and provide input and feedback to help shape delivery and measurement process; adjust plans and tactics based upon collected metrics. * Perform research, analysis, and competitive reviews to inform marketing programs. 3. Digital Marketing and Paid Media * Plan, execute, and optimize paid digital media campaigns across platforms including Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and TikTok Ads — including audience targeting, budget pacing, bid strategy, and creative coordination. * Monitor and report on paid media performance using platform-native analytics and GA4, providing actionable insights on spend efficiency and audience engagement. * Support SEO strategy and web content optimization across ivey.ca properties to drive organic traffic and program awareness. * Contribute to email marketing campaign development, audience segmentation, and marketing automation workflows within Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent platforms. 4. Administration * Coordinate and support team meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and distribution of meeting notes and action items. * Maintain the MARCOM team calendar, ensuring visibility into campaign timelines, key deadlines, and cross-functional dependencies. * Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, Marketing and Communications, and Director of Marketing, including travel and expense reports and scheduling. * Manage and support events and activities related to the marketing program. * Maintain creative asset inventory and competitor portfolios. * Triage case requests are sent to the Digital Service helpdesk. * Perform content updates on ivey.ca web properties and digital signage network. 5. Visual Identity Approvals * Advise internal and external stakeholders on the appropriate uses of the Ivey logo, Ivey design templates and Ivey protected marks. This will include the monitoring and editing of the Ivey visual identity website, Ivey merchandising standards, and liaising with our stationery vendor for Ivey brand merchandise design and procurement for Ivey Trading Company. Education & Experience * A university degree is required, preferably in business and/or marketing. * Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a marketing or sales related role. This experience should include, paid digital media, budget management, marketing planning and project management. Skills & Abilities * Possesses a solid understanding of marketing planning and sales funnel management. * Shows exceptional attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize activities according to larger strategic goals. * Thrives in a busy environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines. * Hands-on experience managing paid campaigns on Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and TikTok Ads, including audience segmentation, retargeting, and budget management across concurrent campaigns. * Proficient in AI tools at an intermediate-to-advanced level — including building AI-assisted dashboards, designing automated reporting workflows, and deploying AI agents to streamline marketing operations; experience with tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or equivalent. * Knowledge of Salesforce, including Sales, Marketing Cloud, and Service Cloud; or equivalent marketing automation platforms is an asset. * Maintains a high level of competence across digital platforms including Google Analytics 4, Excel, and project management tools * Comfortable performing formatting and editing tasks in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. * Exhibits initiative and innovation in project management and marketing plan tracking and reporting. * Demonstrates the analytic skills required to build managerial relevant reports in a variety of contexts and pull data from a wide range of sources. * Utilizes excellent follow-up and communication skills to ensure that internal and external stakeholders are clear on deliverables, roles, and responsibilities. * Demonstrates strong communication skills, both oral and written, including copy editing skills. * Displays confidence and comfort providing feedback and suggestions to improve project management and project deliverables. * Comfortable performing formatting and editing tasks in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. * Participates in and is knowledgeable about on-line communication platforms and tools. * Handles sensitive and confidential information, including financial data, appropriately and with discretion.
