Job Details Job Location: Main Campus - Edmond, OK 73034 Position Type: Faculty Job Category: OTRS Classified Marketing – Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position Summary: The College of Business at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), an AACSB-accredited institution, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing Strategy to begin in August 2026. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, an active and ongoing research agenda consistent with AACSB scholarly academic (SA) qualifications, and the ability to contribute to the service mission of the department, college, and university. Prior business experience in marketing strategy, professional sales, or related fields is preferred. Department Overview: The Department of Marketing houses a dedicated faculty committed to providing transformative, applied learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students. The department offers majors and minors in Marketing, Professional Selling, and related disciplines, while contributing significantly to UCO’s MBA and MSBA programs. Faculty actively support student organizations and professional development opportunities such as sales competitions, internships, and industry partnerships, reinforcing UCO’s reputation as a leader in preparing students for careers in marketing and sales. Essential Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Marketing Strategy and Sales, delivered through face-to-face, hybrid, and asynchronous online formats. Develop and maintain an active research agenda that meets AACSB scholarly academic (SA) standards. Contribute to curriculum design, assessment, and innovation in marketing education. Provide student mentorship and engage in co-curricular initiatives such as student competitions, clubs, and experiential learning opportunities. Participate in service activities at the department, college, university, and professional association levels. Facilitate experiential learning through case studies, consulting projects, and strategic simulations with real-world organizations. Engage with industry partners to bring strategic challenges into the classroom and foster collaborative research opportunities The standard teaching load is four courses per semester, with potential course load adjustments available through a competitive research reassignment process. Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related field, from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD candidates with a confirmed dissertation defense date prior to the employment start date will be considered. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and the ability to meet AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) qualifications.
