THE OPPORTUNITY:
The University of Manitoba BookStore is seeking a Marketing Supervisor to lead and oversee all aspects of marketing and promotional initiatives in the store. This position will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies for the Bookstore, including in-store and e-commerce promotions, special events, and sales through both digital and traditional channels. The position involves collaborating with department managers to promote relevant products, photographing clothing and other product, creating engaging content for websites, social media, and email campaigns, and ensuring adherence to brand standards. The Marketing Supervisor will also coordinate internal communication to enhance staff collaboration, customer service, as well as coordinate with UM Strategic Marketing, Ancillary Services units, and campus stakeholders, in support of UM BookStore goals.
The ideal candidate will have a university degree or diploma in marketing, communications, or a related field, along with a minimum of one year of experience in print and digital media production, preferably in a retail environment. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and MS Office 365 is essential, as is experience with web content management, social media platforms, and video production. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and creative design skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. A background in customer service and supervisory experience is preferred.
