Description
MARKETING TECHNOLOGY ADMINISTRATOR (with Development Skills) We are looking for a Marketing Technology Administrator (with Development Skills) to support and enhance our marketing automation platform. The primary platform for this role is Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC). Candidates with hands-on experience on comparable enterprise platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, or Braze, are welcome to apply, provided they demonstrate the technical aptitude and learning drive to ramp up on ACC. This role is primarily technical, focusing on platform configuration, workflow development, data handling, integration support, and day-to-day operational tasks, with an emphasis on hands-on work and continuous learning. Key Responsibilities Platform Operations & Configuration Support daily operations of Adobe Campaign Classic (or equivalent platform: SFMC, D365 Customer Insights, or Braze). Monitor workflows, deliveries, logs, bounce queues, alerts, and platform performance dashboards. Configure user roles and permissions as part of the access management process. Assist with system configuration updates, technical settings, and environment support (development, UAT, production). Manage SFTP processes, file transfer schedules, and delivery monitoring queues. Development & Technical Tasks Build and modify campaign workflows, targeting logic, segmentation steps, and automated data processes within the platform. Develop and optimise delivery templates, personalization logic, and reusable content components across channels (email, SMS, push). Write or update SQL queries, JavaScript snippets, and platform-specific scripting (XTK/XML for ACC; AMPscript/SSJS for SFMC; Liquid for Braze; Power Fx for D365) under established guidelines. Support schema adjustments and data model extensions (custom tables, fields, enumerations) relevant to the platform. Participate in integration activities: API testing (REST/SOAP), SFTP ingestion, webhook configuration, and data quality checks. Assist in building and validating data import/export workflows and ETL processes connecting the marketing platform to CRM, CDP, or data warehouse systems. Documentation & Testing Document workflows, configuration changes, data flows, and operational procedures to maintain up-to-date technical runbooks. Support QA and UAT cycles: workflow validation, functional testing, delivery testing, and data validation across channels. Assist in release preparation, change packaging, and technical deployment steps across environments. Maintain a platform knowledge base: ACC-specific configurations, integration patterns, known issues, and resolution steps. Collaboration & Learning Work closely with the Marketing Technology Technical Lead and senior technical staff to expand platform depth and coding skills. Collaborate with Marketing, Data, and IT teams to support campaign execution, automation enhancements, and data integration requests. If joining from SFMC, D365, or Braze, proactively map equivalent concepts to ACC (e.g. Journey Builder ACC Workflows; Automation Studio ACC Technical Workflows; Data Extensions ACC Recipient/Custom Tables; Canvas ACC Campaign sequences). Engage in continuous learning around marketing technology platforms, data flows, personalization techniques, and industry best practices. Required Skills & Experience Required Experience is 3+ Years in the relevant domain Platform Experience (at least one of the following — ACC preferred): Primary Platform: Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC): Hands-on experience with ACC v7/v8: workflow builder, delivery configuration, targeting and segmentation, schema/table structures, and basic XTK/XML scripting. Understanding of server-side processes (MTA, nlserver) is a plus. This is the primary platform and the strongest path into this role. Secondary Platform (anyone or all – if no experience with Adobe Campaign Classic) Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC): Working experience with Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Data Extensions, and AMPscript. Candidates comfortable with SQL in SFMC and SSJS scripting will adapt quickly to ACC's workflow and data model. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights: Hands-on experience with CI-Journeys (real-time or outbound marketing), segment building, email/SMS template development, and basic Dataverse data model understanding. Experience with Power Automate flows for marketing automation is beneficial. Braze: Working experience with campaign and Canvas setup, channel configuration (email, push, in-app, SMS), Liquid templating, and basic REST API usage. Familiarity with Braze's event-driven data model and Cloud Data Ingestion will be transferable to ACC's data workflow concepts. Core Technical Skills (Required): SQL: ability to write and troubleshoot queries, joins, filters, and basic aggregations. Understanding of relational data structures and campaign data models. JavaScript / scripting: ability to read, write, and debug scripting logic within the marketing platform (XTK, AMPscript, Liquid, or SSJS depending on background). APIs (REST/SOAP): basic understanding of API calls, authentication, request/response structures, and ability to support integration testing. Workflow configuration and structured data: understanding of how campaign workflows, targeting logic, and channel deliveries are sequenced and executed. Platform development including feature enhancements, template updates, and delivery optimisation tasks. Ability to interpret data models, workflow logic, and campaign configuration documentation. Clear documentation writing: ability to produce accurate technical runbooks, change logs, and operational guides. Advantageous / Nice-to-Have: Exposure to data warehouse or CDP concepts: Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, or Databricks, particularly for understanding data ingestion pipelines from source systems into the marketing platform. Basic understanding of email deliverability principles: bounce handling, suppression lists, MTA configuration, and sender reputation management. Familiarity with mobile channel delivery: push notification configuration, in-app messaging setup, or SMS gateway integration. Experience with version control (Git) and basic CI/CD concepts for managing platform configuration changes. Knowledge of GDPR and consent management requirements in a marketing context: suppression lists, opt-out handling, and data retention. Exposure to Power Automate, Power BI, or similar low-code tools for workflow automation or campaign reporting (particularly relevant for D365 backgrounds). Behavioural & Interpersonal: Hands-on, self-driven work ethic with a willingness to get into the technical details. Learning agility like demonstrable ability to pick up a new platform or scripting language and become productive within a short ramp-up period. Clear and structured communicator: able to document technical processes and explain them to non-technical stakeholders. Comfortable working in a collaborative delivery environment, supporting both campaign execution teams and technical architecture staff.
