Description
We are looking for a Marketing Technology Technical Lead with deep, hands-on expertise in Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC) as the primary platform. Candidates with strong technical experience on comparable enterprise platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, or Braze, are equally encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate the technical depth and learning agility to onboard quickly onto ACC. The role requires the ability to design complex architectures, lead technical delivery, and work hands-on across development, integration, and platform operations. Key Responsibilities: Platform Leadership: Own the technical setup, configuration, and ongoing health of Adobe Campaign Classic. Serve as the go-to technical authority on ACC architecture, server processes (MTA, workflow engine, redirection), delivery configuration, and environment management. Requirements Translation: Work closely with marketing and business teams to translate campaign requirements into clear technical specifications, solution designs, and development tasks. Architecture & Design: Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow maps, and integration designs. Apply knowledge of SOA/batch architecture (ACC) to inform best-fit solutions. Technical Development Oversight: Guide and validate development tasks: ACC workflows, data schemas (XTK/XML), custom scripts, typology rules, and delivery templates. Support hands-on coding when needed (SQL, JavaScript, XML/XTK, AMPscript, Liquid templating, REST/SOAP APIs). Support production deployments, environment promotions, and release packaging. Integrations & Data: Design and manage data flows between the marketing platform and external systems (CRM, CDP, data warehouse, SFTP, APIs). Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR). Leverage experience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or Redshift integrations where applicable. Performance & Governance: Monitor platform performance, optimize workflows and MTA delivery throughput, manage release cycles, and maintain technical documentation and platform standards. Cross-Platform Knowledge Transfer: If joining from SFMC, D365 Customer Insights, or Braze, actively bridge knowledge gaps by mapping equivalent concepts (e.g. Journey Builder ACC Workflows, Data Cloud ACC FDA, Canvas ACC Campaign sequences) and contribute to internal platform documentation. Vendor / Team Coordination: Work with internal development teams and external implementation partners to ensure timely, high-quality technical delivery. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 8+ Years of Experience in the relevant domain. Candidates with on-hand Primary Platform or Secondary Platform experiences will be considered: Primary Platform: Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC): Strong hands-on experience with ACC v7/v8, including server-side processes (nlserver), workflow engine, MTA configuration, typology rules, XTK schema customisation, and delivery monitoring. This is the primary platform for the role. Secondary Platform: (anyone or all – if no experience with Adobe Campaign Classic) Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC): Hands-on experience with Journey Builder, Email Studio, AMPscript, SSJS, SQL in Automation Studio, and Data Extensions. Senior SFMC resources with demonstrable learning agility are considered for rapid ACC onboarding. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights: Strong experience with CI-Journeys (real-time journeys, outbound marketing), CI-Data (CDP, unified profiles, segments), Dataverse data model, and Power Automate. Candidates from a D365 background with deep CRM-to-marketing integration experience are welcome. Braze: Hands-on experience with Canvas Flow, campaign orchestration, Liquid templating, Braze REST API, Currents data export, and Cloud Data Ingestion (Snowflake/Redshift). Senior Braze engineers with strong data engineering backgrounds are considered. Core Technical Skills (Required): Solid hands-on skills in SQL & data modelling, including complex queries, schema design, and ETL logic (Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL). Proficiency in JavaScript and server-side scripting, including SSJS, AMPscript, Liquid, or XTK scripting depending on platform background. Experience with API integrations (REST/SOAP), webhooks, and event-driven data pipelines. Strong grasp of ETL/data pipelines and workflow orchestration, including data ingestion, transformation, and delivery scheduling. Proven ability to design and communicate architecture diagrams, data flows, and integration patterns to both technical and business audiences. Experience managing the technical aspects of a marketing platform: release cycles, environment management, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Advantageous / Nice-to-Have: Understanding of CDP concepts like unified customer profiles, real-time segmentation, identity resolution from platforms such as Salesforce Data Cloud, D365 Customer Insights–Data, or Braze Data Platform. Exposure to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (ARM/Bicep, Terraform). Behavioural & Interpersonal: Strong communication skills with the ability to work across business, data, and technology teams. Demonstrated learning agility with the ability to rapidly acquire depth on a new platform (e.g. ACC) when a strong technical foundation exists on a comparable tool. Comfortable operating in a consulting / client-facing delivery environment, including proposal support, technical workshops, and governance reporting.
Responsibilities
The Technical Lead will own the architecture, configuration, and operational health of the Adobe Campaign Classic platform. They will translate business requirements into technical specifications and oversee development tasks across integrations, data flows, and platform performance.
