HIGH-LEVEL JOB DESCRIPTION (WHAT IS A MARKETING VIDEO DIRECTOR)

Let me explain, this is not a ‘typical’ role. As you’re aware, creativity in ads is paramount. In our industry (Auto Repair), we have amazing clients who are not huge fans of taking photos/ videos.
Our running joke with our Client Success Team is that all you do is call clients and ask for photos. Two years ago, we started doing something different: we would get our clients on a Zoom call, both of us sharing video, and tell them.
“I’m not going to ask for photos, let’s do something different. Take your laptop/ phone and let’s head out into the shop. Cool, stand near that Alignment machine and say this - “Hey New York, does your car need an alignment?”
Basic example…. but that’s how it started.
We have successfully produced over 500 videos, doubling most shops’ leads and even tripling them in some cases. This has also made our clients happier, as they are proud of themselves and can finally present their shop to the community in a more professional way than with a stock photo or a random grainy photo of a technician not even looking at the camera.
This was just the start; we have constantly improved the process and the script, resulting in more and better quality videos.
