Description

ABOUT THE TEAM

Would you like to play a part in bringing the iconic Bath Christmas Market to life? Are you passionate about delivering unforgettable public events and supporting vibrant community experiences?
We’re looking for a dynamic, creative and detail-oriented Markets & Events Officer to join our Emergency Management, Events, Markets & Film Office Service. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of some of the region’s most exciting cultural moments - from the Bath Half Marathon and Royal Crescent Concerts, to Keynsham Music Festival and Midsomer Norton Carnival and local community events.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll support the delivery of the Bath Christmas Market alongside our Site & Production Company, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with all health, safety and licensing requirements. You’ll work closely with stallholders, entertainers, caterers, and other market participants, helping to create a vibrant and welcoming experience for visitors.
You’ll join an experienced, well-established, collaborative and high-profile team at the heart of Bath & North East Somerset’s cultural life. Beyond the festive season, you’ll play a key role in our busy events office, offering expert advice and guidance to event organisers across the district. You’ll support the delivery of major events, and a wide range of community events.
You’ll also collaborate with our Bath Film Office, helping to manage and promote Bath & North East Somerset as a filming location - think Bridgerton, Wonka, and First Dates!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Coordinate and support outdoor events, markets, and filming activities.
  • Provide advice and guidance to organisers on legal, health & safety, licensing and planning requirements.
  • Attend and report to the Safety Advisory Group for Events.
  • Develop event management plans and risk assessments.
  • Support digital transformation to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Liaise confidently with stakeholders including councillors, businesses, residents, and external organisers.
