Description
We're hiring a MarTech Engineer to own the technical implementation and evolution of our marketing technology stack. This is not a "ticket executor" role - we're looking for someone who takes ownership of web tracking, analytics infrastructure, and marketing data pipelines, challenges assumptions, and builds scalable, future-proof solutions that empower our commercial teams to make data-driven decisions. You'll be the technical bridge between Marketing, Product, and Engineering: architecting tracking solutions, ensuring data accuracy across our multi-brand platform, and enabling our teams to optimize acquisition, retention, and revenue through reliable analytics. Work Arrangement: Candidates based in Malta or Bitola will work in a hybrid arrangement. Remote candidates from other European locations are welcome and expected to work aligned with Central European Time (CET) You'll Be Responsible For Technical Implementation & Architecture (60%) Own and architect web tracking solutions across all Rhino brands using Google Tag Manager (GTM), GTM Server, Google Tag Gateway, GA4 and many other 3rd party integrations Implement and maintain server-to-server integrations, custom data pipelines, and API connections Design and deploy consent management solutions (Consent Mode V2, OneTrust, or similar) ensuring GDPR compliance Build scalable tracking solutions for complex user journeys, subscription flows, and payment events Write SQL queries for data validation, custom reporting, and marketing analysis Integrate marketing platforms with our data warehouse for unified reporting Implement and optimize pixel tracking for ad networks and affiliate platforms Troubleshoot tracking issues across web and mobile (basic SDK knowledge) Collaboration & Strategic Support (30%) Partner with Marketing, CRM, and BI teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Work closely with Frontend, Mobile and Backend engineers to ensure tracking implementations don't impact site performance Provide technical consultation on campaign measurement, attribution modeling, and funnel optimization Document technical specifications, data schemas, and tracking implementations Train commercial teams on proper use of marketing tools and data interpretation Continuous Improvement (10%) Stay current with MarTech trends, privacy regulations, and analytics best practices Identify opportunities to consolidate tools, improve data quality, and reduce technical debt Propose and implement automation to streamline marketing operations Monitor performance and SLAs of marketing technology products What You Bring Required 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager (web & server-side) and GA4 (or Universal Analytics) Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation Experience with cloud platforms and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar) Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML/CSS for debugging tracking implementations Experience implementing consent management and GDPR-compliant tracking solutions Knowledge of web tracking for subscription-based or e-commerce business models Familiarity with marketing attribution, conversion tracking, and funnel analysis on both web and native mobile applications (SDK integration knowledge is a plus) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Nice to Have Experience with other analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics, Tealium, Segment, Google Lookup Studio, AppsFlyer) Knowledge of data orchestration tools (Airbyte, Fivetran, Hightouch, Census) Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Braze, OneSignal, ActiveCampaign) Experience with ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, programmatic advertising) Understanding of mobile app tracking (SDKs, Remote Config) Python or other programming languages for data transformation Experience in gaming, entertainment, or fintech industries Knowledge of A/B testing tools and experimentation frameworks What Success Looks Like First 3 Months Audit current tracking implementations across all brands and identify gaps or issues Establish reliable data validation processes and documentation standards Build strong working relationships with Marketing, CRM, Product, and Engineering teams Deliver your first major tracking implementation (new campaign tracking, attribution model, or analytics enhancement) First 6 Months Implement server-side GTM and migrate critical tracking to improve data accuracy and privacy compliance Optimize data pipelines to reduce latency and improve reporting reliability Launch at least two strategic initiatives that directly impact marketing decision-making (e.g., improved attribution, automated reporting, enhanced conversion tracking) Become the go-to person for tracking and analytics questions across the organization First Year Architect and deploy a unified marketing data infrastructure that serves multiple teams Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor to commercial leadership Reduce manual work through automation and improved tooling Contribute to the commercial team's ability to scale efficiently through better data and insights Mentor and upskill team members on MarTech best practices Working for Rhino includes plenty of perks.
