QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Construction Management or Business with equivalent of 3+ years working in an Masonry Estimating Department.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with advanced knowledge and experience in working with Excel such as Pivot tables, V-look-up and Sum if formulas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and learn quickly; ability to take initiative and work well as a member of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
• Attention to detail is essential with focus on high quality of deliverables as well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Exceptional skills in effectively managing multiple tasks often under pressure and within rigid time constraints.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Masonry Estimator is responsible for managing all aspects of project masonry scope pricing, submittals, change orders, invoicing, and collections.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

• Work closely with management, quantity estimators, and workers on site to provide masonry quantities and pricing of any new projects and any changer orders for existing projects.
• Coordinate with general contractors for all submittals, change orders, and shop drawings requested.
• Coordinate with accounting to ensure that all change orders, time/material work, and contract work is correctly invoiced and promptly collected.
• Procure and negotiate competitive pricing from vendors and purchase all materials required for all projects.
• Reconcile quantities and purchase price on bills received for all projects prior to paying them.
• Work with accounting to provide inputs and reconciliation of project profitability reports.
