Responsibilities:
- Comply with all procedural guidelines pertinent to massage therapy and interact nicely with guests.
- Provide safe, suitable and effective massage techniques.
- Learn about precautions and contraindications for massage before every session.
- Explain method and applicable techniques appropriately to customer needs, and take preferences into account.
- Observe customer reaction to massage and modify technique as required.
- Maintain confidentiality as well as sensitive information related to age and gender during client interactions.
- Reports any unusual customer interactions to supervisor promptly.
Tasks include but not limited to:
- Massaging the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments, to assist healing
- Utilising a range of massage techniques to enhance sports performance and prevent injury
- Administering treatments to promote relaxation, improve circulation and relieve muscle tension
- Assessing and treating specific soft tissue dysfunction and providing rehabilitation advice
- Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body.
- Assess clients’ soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
- Confer with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful.
- Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used.
- Massage and knead the muscles and soft tissues of the human body in order to provide courses of treatment for medical conditions and injuries or wellness maintenance.
- Prepare and blend oils, and apply appropriately to clients’ skin.
Salary Package $77,000 + Super
