Under general direction from the Rehabilitation Services Manager, Massage Therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the soft-tissue muscles of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, aid in the general wellness of clients and actively participating as a member of the health care team. All employees are expected to be pleasant, respectful and courteous in all interactions with patients, families, staff, and visitors of the Institute, as well as being a positive representative of the hospital at all times. Required qualifications: Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Massage Therapy. Washington Licensed Massage Therapist upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 2 years of Massage therapy experience. Preferred qualifications: Certified in manual therapy, strain counter strain, myofascial release upon hire. Experienced in working with acute injuries or the injured workers population.
