Description POSITION SUMMARY The Massage Therapist enhances health and well-being through hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and requires morning and afternoon availability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Gives massages in a variety of modalities: Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Sports, Relaxation, Prenatal, Chair, etc. Operates heat lamps and related equipment Keeps linen and towel supplies stocked Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion Handles member complaints Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association COMPENSATION $25.00 - $31.82 ; Part-Time, Non Exempt (up to 25 hrs/week) BENEFITS Free YMCA Individual Membership – Enjoy full access to facilities. High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and training. Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION Must have current, recognized Massage Therapy Certification Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (required) First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days Blood Borne Pathogen training State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT) WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
