Description

The Instructor is responsible for guiding students toward achieving their academic potential by providing mentorship, planning, organizing, and implementing a structured approach to learning. This role requires delivering a curriculum that aligns with the institution’s core values and following a prescribed teaching plan.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 48 months of work or teaching experience in the relevant field, obtained within the last 10 years.
  • OR
  • A minimum of 24 months of work or teaching experience in the relevant field, obtained within the last 10 years, plus one of the following:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree.
  • Graduation from a College of Applied Arts and Technology or an equivalent institution as a Massage Therapist
  • Graduation from a registered Private Career College (PCC) or an equivalent institution.
  • Verification:
  • Applicants must provide two reference letters from non-relatives, verifying their work or teaching experience in the relevant discipline.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency with database applications and administrative systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in adult education and familiarity with Career Colleges is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver curriculum content through lectures, presentations, and interactive sessions using a learning management system (LMS).
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and LMS as needed to manage student data and enhance the learning experience.
  • Teach both in classroom settings and clinical/lab environments.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily attendance and actively support student retention to meet institutional goals.
  • Submit grades promptly and accurately using the appropriate systems or personnel.
  • Be accessible for student support and guidance outside of scheduled class times.
  • Participate in new student orientations and provide guidance to ensure a smooth transition into the program.
  • Attend mandatory faculty/staff meetings and graduation ceremonies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and maintain up-to-date certifications or licenses in the relevant field.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and model exemplary behavior on campus and in community interactions.
  • Treat all students and colleagues with respect, ensuring an environment free from bias or discrimination.
  • Develop and maintain organized lesson plans and a tidy workspace.
  • Address and resolve student conflicts through early behavioral observation and intervention.
  • Keep students and academic services informed by sharing new content, industry updates, and relevant news.
  • Maintain clear communication across all departments within the institution.
  • Coordinate and lead employer visits, field trips, and guest speaker engagements.
  • Work with students requiring accommodations to ensure equal access to education.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in the relevant instructional field.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Campus Director.
