The Position
Under the direction of the Vessel Operations Superintendent, the Master will contribute to the success of SAAM Towage by conducting the handling and command of the vessel, supervising the operation, navigation, and management of the vessel, and crew. They will enforce the company’s integrated management system and lead the safety and administration of all aspects of ship masters business to efficiently deliver services following current government, industry and company’s regulations.
The Tour-of-Duty for the Master will include shift, callout and continuous work in a rotation of 7 days on, 7 days off, or 14 days on 14 days off, with some variation based on operational scheduling for service delivery.

To apply you must have ALL of the following minimum requirements:
§ Master 500 Gross Tonnage (Domestic) Certificate of Competency
§ Experience as an ASD Ship Assist Master;
§ Transport Canada Marine Medical Certificate;
§ Marine Emergency Duties Certificates
§ Marine Basic First Aid Certificate;
§ Ability to become familiar with the company’s SHE-Q and Integrated Management System.
§ Ability to become a member in good standing with the CMSG;
§ Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
§ Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
