QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant field experience preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong aptitude and desire to learn are welcome.
  • Missouri Blaster’s License or reciprocal state license strongly preferred.
  • Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement preferred.
  • Excellent math and mechanical skills.
  • Familiarity with construction site protocols and tools.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Design, load, and detonate blasts following safety and engineering specifications.
  • Drill and pattern blast holes based on project layouts.
  • Monitor environmental and geological conditions to adjust techniques.
  • Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections and safety checks.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and local/state/federal blasting regulations.
  • Safely store, transport, and handle explosives.
  • Operate and maintain drills, detonators, and seismographs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and crew members.
  • Read site plans, calculate charge quantities and sequencing.
  • Troubleshoot misfires and adjust to on-site challenges.
  • Keep detailed documentation of all blasting activities.
