Description
Master Planner Position Summary The Master Planner will be responsible to set and oversee the development of the production plan/schedule based on evaluation of the demand and plant capacity. They will be responsible for partnering with operations to ensure production plan is being followed to meet customer demands. The Master Planner will support daily management activities to ensure commitments are achieved and communicated to the customer support teams.    Principle Responsibilities * Creates master production schedule, ensuring materials availability and capacity to meet requested customer due dates * Works closely with Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure priorities are scheduled and met to achieve minimum of 95% on time delivery * Works effectively with new product introductions; exhibit flexibility to meet changing customer requirements on product launch dates. * Works in close collaboration with Supply Chain Manager to develop a production plan to support the overall Supply Plan by making on-going assessment of human, facility, equipment, and/or material resource requirements needed to maintain production schedule. * Utilizes ERP and process knowledge to identify gaps/risks to achieving production schedule and develops risk mitigation plan and drives actions needed to close gaps, mitigate risk, and maintain schedule.   * Participate and/or conduct daily/weekly production meetings to ensure production plans are achieved. * Works to improve current planning processes and lead change across various functions * May include Customer Service-related activities   Qualification Requirements Credentials/Experience: * Minimum of 5 years’ experience with the development and implementation of master scheduling  * Eight years related experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in a high mix/low volume setting) * Understanding/experience with complex assemblies is preferred. * Planning/Scheduling and Customer Service experience is preferred. * Experience working with customers, sales, and engineering is preferred.       Experience/Educational/Training Preferred: * Bachelor’s degree from a four-year University, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and industry training (i.e. APICS, CPIM).  * Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Solid understanding of MRP concepts including Sales and Operations planning, Master Scheduling, Capacity planning, and MRP required. * Working knowledge of Supply Chain practices and principles. * Ability to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative in dealing with a variety of duties and responsibilities. * Knowledge of manufacturing products, processes, and techniques in a high mix/low volume environment * Excellent computer skills required—especially with Excel spreadsheets. * Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong leadership skills/ability to lead and influence functions. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities   Other Requirements Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
