Job Title: Master Planning & Materials Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Master Planning Manager to lead and optimize our planning and material control functions in a dynamic Made-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for aligning customer demand with production and procurement activities, ensuring materials and capacity are available to meet delivery commitments. This individual will play a foundational role in setting up our ERP system’s planning functionality, building out scheduling and materials strategies, and training our team in best practices.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership position suited for someone with deep ERP experience, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to help shape how planning is done
The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of hands-on experience in ERP-driven planning, including Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), and ideally hold an active APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) designation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to align with customer orders, lead times, and capacity constraints.
• Oversee Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure raw materials and components are available in line with production requirements.
• Lead sales and operations planning (S&OP) efforts, balancing supply, demand, and inventory strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Engineering, and Customer Service to resolve planning and material availability issues.
• Maintain planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock levels) within the ERP system to ensure accurate execution.
• Monitor performance metrics related to delivery, inventory turns, and material availability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning and materials processes to support scalability, responsiveness, and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and support audits related to inventory and production planning.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to planning and material control staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field. (ideally)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Master Scheduling or Materials Planning in a formal ERP environment. (8-10 years a must)
• Proven success in Made-to-Order (MTO) or Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing settings.
• CPIM certification (APICS) is heavily desired.
• Strong ERP proficiency, preferably with [Epicor, or SAP, Oracle].
• Deep understanding of MRP/MPS principles, capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
• Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, customer-driven manufacturing environments.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Epicor Kinetic or other cloud-based ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Kanban, or TOC principles.
• Exposure to Tacton CPQ or other configure-to-order tools (if applicable).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
