Description

The Master Scheduler effectively plans and assigns work to various production areas ensuring materials and manpower are available to perform the work. Performs capacity analyses by specific work center. Implements flow manufacturing techniques where appropriate and provides other support to production and management as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
· High school diploma or general education (GED) and five years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Background utilizing office equipment; familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems.
· Possess excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to work in a team environment, efficiently and effectively.
· Ability to understand work orders and follow procedures.
· Excellent organizational skills: with a high level of flexibility and willingness to adapt to situations quickly.
· Ability to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; occasionally required to sit and talk; frequently required to hear, walk, and continuously stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet; with exposure to loud noise when on the production floor.

Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Creates, communicates, and distributes daily production schedule to relevant team members.
· Works closely with other supervisor to make sure that all issues related to scheduling are properly handled and resolved in a timely fashion.
· Acts as a liaison between production and customer service to ensure the most up-to-date, accurate information is relayed regarding orders.
· Investigates and resolves quantity discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections where needed.
· Uses ERP system to ensure dates relayed back to the appropriate parties are relevant.
· Ensures that all supervisors involved in the production process have a clear understanding of what is required to meet the order and needs of our customers.

· Reviews and prioritizes “hot jobs” per department.

  • Plan and manage production schedules to ensure targeted on-time delivery of customer orders.
  • Responsible for expediting and prioritizing shop orders
  • Makes decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Conducts capacity analyses by specific work center/machine to determine the need for additional tools/capital equipment.
  • Troubleshoots potential capacity issues on an ongoing basis.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel, purchasing personnel, etc. on material status and production planning issues.

· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Adhere to all Jor-Mac and OSHA safety related work rules and procedures.
· Serves as a back-up to the Production Scheduler/Planner.
· Other duties as assigned or required.
