In order to support the development of methods for space surveillance and tracking Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
MASTER STUDENT (D/F/M) IN THE FIELD OF SPACE SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
Are you looking for a master’s thesis and want to get to know the space industry? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us as a master student (d/f/m)!
Since the early days of spaceflight, space near the Earth has become more and more crowded with active satellites and passive space debris. In order to maintain safe operations in space, we need a good understanding of the space environment and the objects therein. This is the aim of the field of Space Situational Awareness (SSA). Within this field, Airbus Defence and Space is developing innovative technologies for Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST).
Real-world data for this endeavour is collected by the Airbus Robotic Telescope (ART), which performs surveillance and tracking observations of satellites and debris. The data is processed by the Airbus software framework SPOOK. Your job is to use and improve these tools to contribute to this research effort. In particular, you will focus on the analysis of the real-world data generated by ART.
