  • 2-year ITI in Automobile or
  • 3-year Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an authorised dealership workshop
  • At least 2 years of experience as a technician
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The Master Technician – Mechanical is responsible for performing complex mechanical repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards This role includes managing additional repair requests, ensuring accurate job card documentation, handling warranty parts, maintaining workplace safety and cleanliness, and providing overtime support during peak workloads The technician must ensure proper usage of materials and maintain effective communication with the wider workshop team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards and comply with the workshop instruction manual
  • Follow the ‘Fix it Right First Time’ (F1) principle
  • Complete assigned jobs within the allocated time
  • Report any additional repairs to the Team Leader, Foreman, or Controller
  • Proactively inform the Team Leader or Foreman of any anticipated delays
  • Work overtime when required, as directed by the Team Leader, Foreman, or Controller
  • Accurately record oil and consumable usage on the job card
  • Handle customer vehicles with care and ensure safe driving within the premises
  • Raise parts requisitions as necessary
  • Complete warranty tags, attach them to corresponding parts, and store them appropriately in the warranty room
  • Obtain prior approval from the Team Leader or Foreman for any additional or warranty-related work
  • Use protective covers when working on customer vehicles
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area at all times
  • Adhere strictly to workshop safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety measures for personal, equipment, and vehicle safety
  • Keep overalls and safety shoes clean and in good condition
  • Ensure that materials issued on job cards are used only for the assigned vehicle
