The Material Flow Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing material handling systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective flow of materials within the production environment. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and process engineering.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience: 3-5 years of related experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar role.

  • Experience with modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or similar.
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and processes.
  • Experience leading complex projects requiring cross functional alignment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience operating in an environment with a diverse range of production volumes.

Travel: Up to 25% based on company need
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and Optimization:
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient material flow in production and warehousing operations.
  • Conduct flow analysis to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Design layouts for material handling systems, including conveyance systems, storage solutions, and workstations.
  • Develop and implement tailored material packaging, storage, and deployment solutions to optimize space utilization and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Analyze current processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes.
  • Data Analysis:
  • Utilize data analytics tools to assess material flow performance metrics.
  • Generate reports and presentations for management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and participate in projects related to material flow improvements, including budget management and timeline adherence.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary equipment and technology.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all material handling processes comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect employees and equipment.
  • Training and Development:
  • Provide training and support to staff on new material handling processes and systems.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in material flow technology.
  • Actively participates in Faith’s hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
