JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Material Flow Leader is responsible for driving increased output and on-time delivery performance as well as optimizing inventory by addressing planning system inefficiencies and improving material flow processes. This role involves implementing strategic inventory and scheduling solutions tied to stocking levels, lead times, and part flow. The individual will have direct input into priorities and lead problem-solving efforts to enhance inventory and material flow. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in driving increased output and on time delivery by addressing inefficiencies in planning systems and material flow processes). + Minimum of 3 Years of driving increased output and on time delivery by addressing inefficiencies in planning systems and material flow processes.

Responsibilities
  • Drive increased output and on time delivery by addressing inefficiencies in planning systems and material flow processes.
  • Optimize manufacturing plans and material replenishment strategies to enable Connected Flow within the Dayton site.
  • Define Standard Work for the implementation and management of strategic buffer stock and maintenance of data quality parameters.
  • Identify and resolve lead time disconnects. Implement long-term solution for effective management of lead times.
  • Lead site inventory strategy and problem-solving.
  • Help develop effective countermeasures for inter-functional processes impacting timely material release, part flow, and schedule stability.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
