JOB SUMMARY Under direct supervision, utilizes motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment to handle and maintain the flow of materials and products in the warehouse according to established guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Loads and unloads materials and goods from ingoing and outgoing trucks. 2. Moves, stores and spaces materials as directed, using motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment. 3. Uses computer and/or RF equipment continuously for material handling assignment information, including updating the system to indicate current inventory, to generate and print bar code labels to attach to products and/or containers and to confirm transaction completion. 4. Attends training or meetings as scheduled by management, to share information and to help improve the overall work process. 5. Maintains a clean work environment by maintaining good 5S (cleanliness, organization) conditions in assigned work areas while performing daily job assignments. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Education · H.S. diploma or GED required · Must be able to be certified to operate Stock-picker, Reach-truck and propane forklifts Work Experience · 0-3 years of relevant experience required · Prior warehouse experience required SKILLS AND ABILITIES · Ability to use computers to process transactions in the BPCS tracking system · Ability to be certified to operate Stock-picker, Reach-truck and propane forklifts · Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures · Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals · Ability to read and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form · Good oral and written communication skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Standard ADA Selection Warehouse Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Throughout the course of the day, the employee is often required to sit; climb or stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Depending on location, the employee may be exposed to temperature extremes varying from very hot in summer (up to 100 degrees) to very cold in winter (down to 45 degrees). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and material handling equipment, and is regularly exposed to dust and a moderate noise level. A safety vest and protective shoes are required in the warehouse.
